Sprint's HTC Hero now available through telesales now and tomorrow for Best Buy
With only a few days left before the HTC Hero makes waves across stores around the country, Sprint's telesales department has jumped the gun and started offering it for sale. If you can't wait any longer for this Android device, then pick up that phone and call Sprint so you can get your hands on one before the official launch date. You're going to have to fork over $279.99 upfront for the phone with a two year contract – the $100 mail-in-rebate will drop  it down to the under $180 mark. Early reports from a few users over at Sprint Users were able to get this device with the SERO plan, but others were flat out denied attempting to get it with the inexpensive plan. If having to dish up over $280 right now poses a problem, you might want to check out Best Buy Mobile tomorrow because they'll start selling a small portion of their stock to Best Buy Rewards Zone members. Instead, you'll be treated by having to only pay the face cost of $179.99 for the Hero – not too shabby if you're forgetful when it comes to mailing in those rebate forms.

Lucky Sprint people get to get an android phone from HTC first with CDMA. I have a bastardized version on my 6900 that works ok, but nothing like the real hero does. Have fun people!

I just called Sprint to try and buy the Hero. They are not selling it for $429.99 as we've previously heard - it's retailing for $479.99! Little bit of a difference! Just thought I'd let everyone know!
