The HTC EVO 3D release date has been the hot topic of last week with dates literally pouring from all sides ranging from June 4th to June 24th, and unfortunately it's the latter that Sprint just made official. The EVO 3D comes with a price tag of...

I'm so excited! I've had the presale since Best Buy started a while back. This phone will be amazing! And Sprint is SOOO cheap! I pay half what I paid on at&t.

I can't wait! I talked them into overriding my upgrade so I can get the full $150 off instead of $75 so I can get this phone for $200 and sell my OG Evo on Craigslist for $200. If you got the original Evo in June last year and are a Sprint Premiere customer, then I recommend trying the same thing. They should honor it because of their policy change that made you silver status and took away your yearly full upgrade. They will do it for this one time as a courtesy. You may just have to speak to a manager and make a stink about it. Tell them that one of the main draws that brought you to Sprint was the yearly upgrade.

Thanks for this info. I had no idea that Sprint did away with the yearly upgrade. I may need to check on this before I go to pick mine up.

You're welcome. Also, they will only override it for the month of June and you have to get it through the telesales department since they are the only ones with the power to override. Plus, they may try to charge you $12 for shipping and an $18 upgrade fee. These can be easily waived by unchecking a couple of boxes. All you have to do is object to paying shipping and an upgrade fee and they will be happy to waive it. I used to work in telesales for Sprint so I know this. Their shipping is pretty fast, 2 days. They are open until 1am so I will try calling just after midnight on 6/24 to see if they will let me place my order for Evo 3D. Dial *7 from your Sprint phone to get to the telesales department.

How did you talk them into overriding your upgrade to the full $150?

In the email I got from Sprint, in the fine print it says the HTC Evo 3D is going for $399.99 full price. It says the HTC Flyer is $499.99. If that is so the HTC Evo 3D is cheaper full price then I was expecting. This is great news. I can't wait for the HTC Evo 3D, I want it yesterday!

wooooow i just looked at the fine print too. so the biggest phone on sprint is cheaper full price than the other smartphones?!

23. Cranemachine posted on 16 Jun 2011, 12:48

Is there any way you can send me the email Sprint sent you giving the official full price? I just dont want them to raise it on me. If I had that email I could use it as proof just in case they try to screw me.

Thanks!

If you're looking to buy it outright, I can almost guarantee it'll cost more than 399.99. Hell, the Nexus S is 599.99 full price, and this is a far better phone

8. tigermcm posted on 06 Jun 2011, 11:06

I received 2 different emails from Sprint and both in the fine print have the same price here is the fine print:

May require up to a $36 activation fee/line, credit approval and deposit. Up to $200 early termination fee/line applies. Phone Offer: Offer ends 7/22/11. While supplies last. HTC EVO 3D $399.99 (two-year price) - $200 (instant savings)= $199.99 (final price). Taxes and service charges excluded. No cash back. No mail-in rebate applies. Requires activation at the time of purchase. Upgrade: Existing customers in good standing with service on the same device for more than 22 consecutive months currently activated on a service plan of $39.99 or higher may be eligible. Other Terms: Coverage not available everywhere. Sprint 4G network reaches over 70 markets and counting, on select devices. Sprint 3G network reaches over 274 million people. Additional terms and restrictions apply. See store or sprint.com for details. Offers not available in all markets/retail locations or for all phones/networks. Pricing, offer terms, fees and features may vary for existing customers not eligible for upgrade. Other restrictions apply. See store or sprint.com for details.

Yes but you need to add the $150 (two year upgrade discount) onto the $399.99 two year price. This would make it $549.99 outright. Sprint always adds instant savings discounts on top of the $150 upgrade savings discounts. I used to work for Sprint and Radio Shack.

Uh......the nexus s is 549.99 full price

9. Droid_X_Doug posted on 06 Jun 2011, 11:41 2

In any event, if you have an e-mail from Sprint with a $399 price, they will ave to honor the $399 price regardless of what they intended to price the handset at. (thump up)

24. Cranemachine posted on 16 Jun 2011, 12:50

How do I get that email? Is there any way you could send it to me please so I can show it to them so they dont raise the price on me?
THANKS

Keep in mind the expiration date on that email notification was sometime in july...so if you are going to take advantage of the possibly incorrect non-contract pricing, you had better do it before then, otherwise that email won't mean a thing to Sprint.

17. maloney2323 posted on 06 Jun 2011, 20:27

I just got off of the phone with a sprint Rep. The full retail price of evo 3d will be $399! I couldn't believe it when i heard it so i ask her her again and got the same answer. I was very happy cause I done have full upgrade. Also being the cheapest retail price I have ever seen especially for a phone of this caliber. Hope I heped:-)

so sprint is currently offering a $125 bill credit for porting your number from another carrier. i'm switching from verizon. the offer expires 6/23. so i'm getting the epic4g ($150 + $50 gift card to reserve the evo3d) at the end of this week, then returning it on the 24th, and getting the evo3d ($200). so what if i have to pay a $35 restocking fee? i'll be ahead $90 on this deal! why would sprint make their poor service reps even go thru this?

22. AndroidTroll posted on 08 Jun 2011, 09:50

smart plan :) I wish Sprint would extend the promotion through June 24. They already know the Evo 3D is a big draw to get people to switch, but why not make it an EVEN bigger draw? Are they afraid of adding new subscribers? lolol

The wait is almost over thank god on that. The best android device will be out on june 24th 2011 and again sprint has the best that will always happen as long as the Evo family is in existance....The Evo Evolution rules android and always will........
