what with the long names for phones.. how about simply "The EVO LTE"..

Thank you! I thought I was the only one bothered by that. I got one even better... How about just the "HTC Evo II.". The second version of the Blackberry Curve was the only phone I can remember ever having that stupid "3G" tag at the end, and that was because the first version was just 2G, now everyone is trying to do. It got worse when VZW introduced the "Droid" moniker for some of its Android devices. It seems like the other carriers and even the OEM's said to themselves, "That's so cool! We should do it too!" Next thing you know, we've got the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic Touch 4G LTE, and the T-Mobile myTouch 4G Slide. This is silly...pick a different name and quit confusing the customers!

Nah, Evo LTE would suffice... besides, this would in fact be Sprint's First LTE Device, right?

unless the galaxy nexus lands first.

Only if it is quadcore but the dual core one with the S4 wouldn't be bad. Quad core just sounds better. ROFL.

Carriers need to stop putting "4G" or "LTE" in the names of phones....

If HTC's new strategy is to release 3 basic phones under the One brand, why would they let a douchy provider re-brand it to a previous phone like "EVO"? Won't that dilute the whole point of the new brand strategy?
And enough with the alphabet soup naming convention. Idiots who don't know enough to check if their phone is capable of 4G or LTE don't know what that means, anyway so it does no good to stick it in the name.

I agree. They will probably try something like the Galaxy Nexus and call it the HTC Evo One X which is lame as well.

I don't want this as the next Evo. Give me another quad-core with a higher resolution screen and LTE. The Evo is always the trendsetter in terms of screen res/processor/connection

Cry about it. The Snapdragon S4 is faster than the Tegra 3 with a starved memory subsystem, and the OneX has a DPI that's high enough to not matter anyway.
I'm sure that you'll want something completely different from all the other phones, so that way you can never get any updates and the number of devs who work on the phone will be significantly less right?

I don't care what the heck they call them. Just give me the specs. And a physical keyboard.

Sprint coverage / service is so bad I just can not take it any longer. I don't care if they get a new EVO phone. My EVO is great, used it once in a 4G area, since I do not have it near me or any time soon. Since they are moving to LTE... I will never have it. I bought the EVO used and replaced the previous POS a Samsung Moment (it works for a moment, should have known by the nae) thinking my problems would go away. Phone works great Sprint has had nothing but problems for the last two years. I never had to call Sprint until last two years and I bet I logged 30 calls to them.
BTW I have had sprint I bet for at lest 12 years and now I am going to switch to Verizon
