Sprint to match Verizon pricing on Touch Pro2?
When Verizon priced its version of the HTC Touch Pro2, it was at a price point $150 lower than what T-Mobile and Sprint were charging for the same handset. Big Red's move paid off as it was the only carrier of the three to have sold out its inventory of the phone (as we reported, Verizon should be re-stocked by this weekend). Perhaps it was this reason that Sprint has decided to match Verizon by dropping its price on the Touch Pro2 to $199.99 after a mail-in-rebate and a 2 year contract, starting on Thursday, October 1st. This is the word that is coming from Sprint customer reports.

If you are a Sprint customer who purchased the Touch Pro2 within the last 30 days at the higher price, you can return the phone and repurchase it at the new, lower price. If you ask nice enough, you might be able to avoid all that and simply have the Sprint rep issue you a credit to your account for the difference in price. With the two CDMA versions now going for $199.99, it should be interesting to see if T-Mobile joins the crowd, and what AT&T will do when it launches its' version as the Tilt2 on October 18th.
