Sprint to lay off more than 2000 people

The pin-dropping network is dropping more than pins as it seems that as few as 2,000 and as many as 2,500 employees will be let go from the carrier...

And how's that? 49 million well make that 48.5 million, Sprint's not going anywhere! Sprint has improved over the years!

On top of that, who did Sprint just aquire? Virgin Mobile? See, big increase of staff. Not all those bodies are needed. I don't think this is an indication Sprint is going anywhere.

Yeah, losing 9% of your total revenue YOY is a big improvement!! How much do you make YOY? Do you even know what YOY is? Do you even work? If my pay dropped 9% I'd be losing over 2000 dollars in the course of a year. That's a lot of freaking money, and I make shit pay allready!!

Sprint is going to bounce back, prices are great and you get really good bang for your buck. VZW has solid service in most places, but when the hell am I going to go everywhere in the US? Sprint gets solid service where I live so Sprint is the champ for now in my book. Plus when I am "roaming" I am using verizon's towers, can you hear me now?

This the point most people miss. I don't think Sprint or AT&T will absolutely fail and go into bankruptsy. Their customer base may decrease substantially, but they'll survive or be purchased by another carrier. No carrier has the "best" coverage EVERYWHERE. Verizon DOES have the best coverage in most places, but if you don't travel it's irrelevant. I travel a lot and therefore I have Verizon, but I also have an AT&T phone to cover me in area's where the Verizon / Alltel network doesn't cover. AT&T had horrible coverage in California and Arizona, but certain parts of Texas have great coverage. Most of those people have been with AT&T for 10 years and unless something drastic happens they won't change. I don't think Sprint can "bounce back" though without something like the iPhone to drive people back to Sprint. They burned too many bridges with people and now they won't want to go back to see if everything's fixed. Even if the price is $10 cheaper then Verizon, AT&T, or TMobile. Also, I think TMobile has the cheapest prices right now. BTW.. When the iPhone goes to other carriers, AT&T will take a huge hit on their customer base. You can't honestly deny that. When the iPhone came out AT&T's subscription base grew exponentially and it was only due to the iPhone. Apple releases iPhones on a semi-regular basis and so people stay locked in with AT&T. A LOT of people have posted on VZW iPhone articles that they would pay their ETF to transfer to Verizon if the iPhone became available. That said a few people will probably stay with AT&T that switched, but most people who switched will switch back.

why because they have more customers? or because they still pull revenue each quarter larger than any other carrier? they have devices called EnV.... but do not require it for someone finishing second to them.

Well I know at least some are from wire line, however my neighbor workED for wireless and even though he had top sales in his store, he was on some b.s. 'developmental' action plan, and according to him, all developmental employees are now jobless.
