Sprint has slashed the price of the iPhone 4S by $50 and now the 16GB version costs $149.99 on a two year contract. The carrier is also waiving the $36 activation fee…

Nows not a good time to buy an iPhone. Wait a month and you can either save money on the current one or get the new one.

Still not worth it. For just fifty bucks more you get one of two more updated phones which not only have expandable memory, but also will have LTE connectivity when it rolls through your area.
Oh well. I'll have to deal with the swell of customers with their blank stares asking for the iPhone on sale. I can already see the conversations:
"Okay, but this phone has this feature that the iPhone doesn't have."
"But that phone's not an IPHONE."
"Okay, but the iPhone is not the best phone you can get for your money right now."
"But it's an iPhone!"
"Fine, let's get you your iPhone so I can get you the hell out of my store and move on to a customer who actually gives a s**t about value."

How are they not buying a phone? It is still a cutting edge phone that holds its own to this date. Not many Android phones can do that since many lose their value within a few months to half a year.

I worked retail for over a decade, and I can't speak for The_Exxile, but I cared because I cared about my customers. I wanted every customer to leave happy. It made me feel good to know that I made others happy, and did a great job. So maybe, The_Exxile is the same way; just wants to give people the best.
I know we live in a day where customer service is dying, but I think we should applaud The_Exxile for still wanting to help.

You thumb me down for what? You applaud the exile for bashing his customers for choosing an iPhone? Vgood customer service is helping customers make the purchase they want.
Being a fandroid and trying to talk people into something they don't want is not good customer service.

I hear that comment every day at work.... I ask my co worker what is so great about is phone.... the only answer I get is that "it's an iPhone". He can not list one aspect or feature that makes his phone better than every other phone out there. When I rattle off all the pros of other phones he responds.... "But that phone isnt an iPhone". Brain washed? Yep.

A lot of people already own other Apple products, and when that is the case it makes sense for them to get an Apple phone as well. There's no need to start a pissing match everytime Apple makes a headline, the bottom line is they have a reputation for being good phones and at the end of the day, people want a phone that they won't have to worry about the bugs of Android's past.
From a sales reps point of view, I LOVE selling the iPhone. Especially when a customer comes in and they already know exactly what they want. Not to mention the accessories available for the iPhone (which i'm commissioned on), I'd sell iPhones all day over any other phone and sleep just fine at night.

if you work for Sprint...you're only gonna have to deal with about 10 people who actually want to switch to that pathetic excuse for a wireless company, so it shouldn't be too bad.

wow... i wish carriers here in the philippines will also lower the price of iPhones and other devices like what US carriers do...
but its already cheap around 1699 for unli surf plan...so thats around $40 and just add 500 pesos then unli call and text already...
but the country's average salary per person isnt that big.... an iphone/galaxy s3/lumia 900 is around 27-40 thousand pesos and that is like 6 months salary of a regular person here in the philippines

Customers that come to my store almost never know why they want the iPhone. A majority of them don't know about any features other than Siri, or Facetime. Still more don't know that Facetime requires a Wifi connection in order to work, or that only other iPhone/iPad users can use Facetime with them. It kills me as a tech geek to have people ask for a phone that has a smaller screen, an outdated internet technology, a restricted app market that doesn't allow for things such as free music downloads or free ringtones, all because it has a little silver Apple logo on the back.
You can tell it's all about the brand when even the cases sold for the phone have an opening on the back for the Apple logo to show through - just so EVERYONE can see that you have an iThing - and none of the other cases for other phones do, because it's more about what's under the hood and not what's on the surface.
Just my 2 cents.

its mainly b/c of iPods. if Android would have beat Apple to the punch with a revolutionary music player Android would be a household name. very few people go in to the process of buying a smart phone knowing a - b & c about the phone. that's why they came to see you b/c you're supposed to have the info. the problem is that techie people can't stop themselves from thinking like techies. LTE connectivity, quad core processors...these things are important to a techie but if someone doesn't share the same interest techies can't understand why. unfortunately those who aren't dazzled by those shiny features...it doesn't matter. if the phone is functional that's enough. there a few small refinements that iOS has over Android and vice versa. For example, i just got this nice new Galaxy SIII...came from an iPhone 4S. This powerful, cutting edge ferrari of smart phones that bump share files & do face recognition doesn't support a Chipotle or Jimmy Johns app (kind of minor i know but still) b/c the Play Store doesn't have either of those apps available. So instead of going thru the app, placing my order and selecting my pick up time...i first tried the website which kept erroring out then i had to call them. again, not a big deal but it was seamless on my iPhone. definitely not on my Android.
i said all that to say that in the midst of all the iOS bashing that Android fans do...remember Android has flaws as well. when you love technology, you don't have to pick sides...you just like good designs.

Every tech has flaws. My digital camera used to freeze up every twentieth time or so I started it up.
My windows 7 laptop occasionally gets slow and buggy and requires a restart. The Macs we used to use when I was the high school newspaper editor would occasionally force close Adobe InDesign and lose the last hour's worth of work. My iPod Classic 120GB freezes up and requires a reboot. Etc etc etc....
Show me a computer, phone, operating system, camera, server, etc, that is PERFECT and I will show you one rich S.O.B.
