good point. Sprint just talks a lot, They have all of these commercials out saying 4g this 4g that. How about you get your 4g in more places then you can talk. Any carrier can come out and say "we will have our 4g across the nation". Doing and saying are two different things.

you lame sprint fan boys... how about you be a fanboy of the entire wireless industry and what it has become over the past 10 years. Sprint has been talking about this so called 4g network of theirs for the past 3 years it seems, while the other wireless providers are pretty much keeping quit and letting it roll out before they start making a big deal about it. Just as a business owner I wouldn't promise something that I couldn't provide; or promise something that I can provide in 4 years.

You must know nothing about the stock market my friend. You need to announce products and services BEFORE they happen so that people gain interest in your company.

lame Sprint fanboys? I'm curious what type of business man uses such sophmoric taunts....What is so-called 4g? There's 3G and there is 4G. To my knowledge there are actual people using 4G internet now and speeking very highly of it. Maybe you live in Podunk Arkansas and it will take 4 years for you to upgrade from dial-up, but he rest of us "City-Folk" will be on HTC EVO's in no time. Step your game up homie.

I don't know how retarded you are, but Arkansas isn't all "Podunk." If you've ever heard of Wal-Mart and pay attention to anything, you would know that Wal-Mart came from Northwest Arkansas. And, if you watch football then maybe you would have heard about the Arkansas Razorbacks which are in the Sugar Bowl. I don't know how "podunk" that sounds to you, but to me it sounds like you're an idiot!

Too all you Sprint haters, Sprint will have there 4G network well in the works and expanding nation wide before AT&T and Verizion have even gotten there LTE network off the ground. I find it ironic that people are already saying Wimax is dead before LTE has even seen its infancy. Go Sprint!!!!

Is it really 4G or is it more like 3.25G? Seeing as the heavy hitters in the wireless industry are bypassing the WiMAXX technology to opt for LTE which seems like its going to be the more global universal language...it makes me wonder about Sprint's so-called 4G WiMAXX. So though this seems like Sprint is making some headway...when LTE hits it seems like it may trample the beloved WiMAXX. Sprint is all about doing something quick to say that they did it first...but will it last. It's all about longevity. I'm just sayin...

I could not have said it better myself. wimaxx is an inferiour network technology and .. guess what ( this may be a shocker to your sprint users) ITS CHEAPER!! Thus the fact that they are putting it up sooner... My father alwasy told me, "quality over quantity" that will prove to be the case whe it comes to LTE DESTROYING SPRINT and its wimaxx... read it and weep sprint users

The problem isn't WiMAX, it's more so the fact that every other carrier is going to LTE. Assuming each company will have roaming agreements with each other, this will give customers on all networks a better experience...except for Sprint. What I fear is that Sprint will be like Nextel in that if you weren't on Nextel's network, you got no service because it couldn't roam on CDMA or GSM. This will force Sprint to spend a good amount of money on making their networking as big as the network that T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon will create as a joint unit. At the same time, LTE has been reported with faster real life speeds than WiMAX. I'm not a Sprint hater...I think it's stupid to hate a company. But I just don't know how they will proceed forward.

That made no sense because Verizon's mentality is the exact opposite of "quality over quantity." They like to claim, "oh we have full service and 3G everywhere, look at our map it's all red" when in fact a lot of that all red map is crap for service. When I had Verizon, my house as well as family members houses would drop calls (or not even allow you to make or receive calls because the service was so bad) and data speeds would be horrendous... but when I checked their map it was all red. That is NOT quality. In fact I see it as false advertising.

Now this is a well thought out and well put response. I'm persoanlly a believer in WiMax but time will tell. I can respect your opinion.

Ouch... I work for VZW and still waiting on 2.1 Don't give up on it yet. I have to admit though, it is getting annoying with yes its going, no its not going. I am glad to see though the big push for WiMax. From what I hear, and someone please correct me if I am wrong, but if I am not mistaken, WiMax can be converted to LTE. This would be a positive thing for Sprint as they would just be moving in steps, which in thier financial situation, can be a very good thing.

I think it's funny how everone was saying how the Droid is the best, the Nexus and every other phone sucks compared to the Droid. Now that they're waiting for this update people are starting to say how they're changing phones now.

So you lookin to switch services based on a delayed SW upgrade? And now all of sudden now Verizon's prices are too high. This guy. I think some people just whine too much man. Verizon has dangled Android 2.1 in our faces for months...so? Life goes on...

With all due respect. Verizon's prices are too high. The late SW update just punctuates that fact.

I think I creamed myself when I saw it was coming to Pittsburgh and Cleveland. I am 30-45 minutes outside of Pitt and an Hour and a half from Cleveland. This might mean that 4G is going to be in my area within a year. :D They have to connect the networks eventually! :P
