Sprint launches faster EV-DO Rev A

Sprint PCS just officially announced the launch of the EV-DO Revision A in the San Diego market, making it the first place in the States to have the technology commercially available. The faster revision of the data technology mainly improves the uploading speeds, allowing for 5-6 times faster uploading: 400 kbps instead of 70 for normal EV-DO, while downloading maximum speed is now 800kbps instead of 700kbps.

Sprint expects to launch the Revision A of EV-DO data service in 20 more markets before the end of the year.
