I wonder how many of the BB fans will be rushing to respond with how they are going to pay a $50 premium for lower specifications and functionality? If you really must have a 'Berry, just wait 90 days and both will be available for free on contract.

That $250 is way to high. Even the Torch is $50 to high. I am interested in seing the phones and how well they function though for that price.

given the specs I think the Torch's price is right, it has a 1.2 ghz processor and WVGA screen. The Bold has lesser specs, the only reason they charge more presumably is international capability, but Motorola doesnt charge more for that with their Photon and XPRT, those phones are priced the same as comparably speced phones.

lesser specs? the bold screen is higher dpi. and it has nfc. nfc is probably the big reason that is 250 and also it has a metal edge. more premium parts.

800x480 res on 3.7 inch screen vs. 640x480 on a 2.8 screen for the Bold. NFC wont be widespread until this phone is outdated so that is a moot point. And Blackberry phones usually have good build quality, I dont expect the Bold to be significantly better than the Torch in this, if it is better.

The Bold will not sell above $200. $100 on a 2-year then some might move.

This is not competitive pricing. Bye bye RIM, you were great, once.

These new BlackBerry handsets will still sell. BlackBerry fans everywhere are extremely excited about these handsets. And RIM is hardly in a spot where they are going to disappear. The company is still profitable. Look for RIM to gain a bit of marketshare in the 3rd and 4th quarter.

With a world filled with Best Buy's and Radio Shacks I do not see these selling well at Sprint stores with that price. Sorry but that's reality

So if you're expecting these guys on VZW expect to pay like $250 and $350

And for comparison, the Bionic will be priced at what point? Whether RIM wants to acknowledge it or not, they do have competition.

How is the Bold the flagship? Torch has more features, more power, and is more attractive to a cell phone shopper...

Because the Bold features RIM's signature keyboard, which is 2nd to none when it comes to typing.
If you've used a BB before, you would know their keyboards are awesome.
