Sprint’s weekly Playbook magazine for its external dealers has arrived recently and we have the latest news surrounding the carrier. Those include some data caps…

Those sweet unlimited data plans will not make out of 2012 alive. Capped data is coming to Sprint as well. They will get the iPhone. Keep unlimited to gain some customers and then introduce tiered data. Simple as that.

My contract with Verizon ended in the end of august. After over 15 years as a Verizon customer I was going to leave and go to Sprint because of all the changes they made. (Verizon eliminating one year contracts was the final straw.)
Slowly Sprint is becoming Verizon Jr. I don't see the reason to make the switch now.

I use my hotspot all day with my laptop and the cap will become a problem for me, particularly since there isn't a way to buy a "super hot spot" with more than 5GB in it. $.10 per MB overage will add up fast.

Root your android and get that hotspot for free. Simple as that.

Last night at 8:30pm a Sprint rep had the nerve to call me about added a 3rd line to my account, then told me that the 3rd line could NOT be used with my family plan and had to be on its own everything unlimited plan. I was like, 'Bitch' you have the nerve to call me this late at night to add a 3rd line and NOT put it on my family plan? I told her its better the have my friend or family member to get their own f**king plan instead of getting on mine. I wouldn't save any money on the 3rd line, so I said, hey why don't you push my upgrade from 11-1-2011 up, she said no I had to wait. I told her to go f**k herself and don't call me about any more bulls**t garbage promotions.

It's reactions just like this, that make customer service one of the harderst jobs in America. Some people just don't realize that there actually is a "PERSON" on the other line that they are talking to, who has feelings and are just trying to their job, don't take it out on the reps. BTW, service could be termintated for "harrassing a Sprint customer service rep; read it in the terms and conditions.

Do you think I give a rats Ass about peoples feelings? The bitch could barely speak ENGLISH. I had to leave my living room and go into my bathroom to hear what she was saying, then had to keep telling her to REPEAT HERSELF because I couldn't make out a word she was saying. If they Stop sending our customer service over to other countries then maybe we wouldn't have to act like how we do when trying to get things taken care of.

Ok settle down, if you have half a brain and ever called a customer service rep for any service then you would know what I'm talking about. She was trying to get me to get a 3rd line for an extra $108 a month. Yes an average Sprint line with the extra $10, plus fees, plus insurance is $108. She tried to tell me I had to put it on its on line and not my family plan. So tell me who was trying to screw over who here. I don't have a problem with waiting for my upgrade, its a month away. I do have a problem with Sprint calling my HOME trying to get me to buy stupid s**t.

This funny because this troll is lying or just plain dumb. If the account under your name, no one else can put a phone under your account or do anything with your account. You can't even upgrade a phone unless the account holder is there. 8:30 is late, you sir are an ASSHAT.

Thats why I got the Nesus S with sprint. Free unlimited hotspot. I easily use 20 gigs per month.

If Sprint continues to cap their data its gonna knock them out if this so call Mobile Race faster than ever. I use my mobile hot spot for my xbox. So I know that I'm going to get interrupted by the cap day one. But this is the only thing sprint has going rite now. If Dan can read this DON'T CAP DATA!!!!! your supposed to get the iphone and the people are going to want a true unlimited call and data plan. But its the greedy share holders that's going to promote the caps. Goodbye Sprint it was fun while it lasted.

For you guys ticked off about the hotspot, get the GSII, or if you have an Android,root the phone. My phone is running everything my home internet can (A tad bit slower, but there isn't a noticeable difference. :)

I've seen and used the Motorola Admiral, if that's the name it ends up having. It will be the first offering from Sprint with the "direct connect" attached (at least for this attempt at combining services). Similar to XPRT but rounded, with the newest version of "ghost blur" interface. Walkie-Talkie services work very well and have a quicker connection time then nextel has. As long as it is priced well, should be a good offering for people getting off of Nextel and jumping to Sprint. Oh and apparently, 1GHz processor, 512mb of RAM, and 3.2" screen.

Out of curiousity what does it mean to "root" an Android OS. Is it equivalent to jailbreaking an Apple OS, and what enables you to use your Android device as a hotspot without adding a mobile hotspot feature?

dan do whatever it takes to uncap data for phones. keep your word. watch people begin to flock to sprint. capping data is kind of rediculous, seeing how we are moving from text into a video age.

I was hoping Sprint would keep its unlimited data plans. But if they're willing to cap their mobile hotspot plans, they're likely just holding off on the handset unlimited plan till their stupid iPhone is out on the market for a couple of months, or till they get critical mass on the iPhone subscribers. Suddenly Verizon's 4G, and its upcoming Galaxy Prime is starting to look more inviting.

Unfortunately it looks as if this is the first step on this slippery slope. Hopefully Sprint knows that users like myself stay largely because of the unlimited plans. I use my Nexus as a hotspot as a connection to a wifi Ipad 2!!!!! I did this to save some money(shame on me). I'm sure Sprint is thinking that getting the Iphone 5 limits the advantage other carriers have, and some how is using this addition as justification to limit plans.
Unfortunately Sprint is not a market leader in any of the market driving forces.
Customer service??? No
Wireless Service???? No
4g service Wimax vs LTE?? No
4g business partner Lightwire??? No FCC approval.
So what do they have?
Cheaper plans?? Marginal and changing.
Unlimited everything??? Not after October.
Its like the management is constantly looking for a way to sabotage their own business model. Hopefully they wake up.
Otherwise I'm voting with my feet and wallet. Now to decide where my 4 line family plan will land.
