My wife will be happy about this, on the other hand, Motorola is finish with the soak test for a update for the Photon with Gingerbread. It fixes some issues like random reboot and gives 1080p video recording. But nothing on ICS yet. It took 2 updates for the saok because the 1st update caused some issues and we ended up waiting another month for a update to fix those problems.

I got sooooooooo fed up waiting for this update that last week I unlocked my phone and then flashed it with d3rp ICS for EVO 3D. I never planned on doing that, but I have the money to buy a new phone if I bricked it, and I was tired of waiting.

I tried a couple of different roms and liked d3rp the best. (I plan on trying CyanogenMod once they have the JellyBean version up) I've had this particular rom running since Friday at noon and it is stable, and super fast. It also has a LOT of customization. And, it is FAST! (I know I just said that, but I was shocked how much quicker my phone is now) The only drawback is that for some reason some of the icons become black and white instead of being in color. I will gladly accept that trade-off for the speed and extra features though. I LOVE Sprint, but they dropped the ball on this update.

EVO 3D in NYC.

I have the Evo Design and I think this update should have hit earlier since the Boost Mobile version already has ICS.

Hahaha. Stupid slow update. My wife has had her 3D for what, a year? And she hates it due to lags and crashes. I'm looking to buy her a used Epic 4G Touch hoping that the Exynos processor makes her happy. She got tired of the lag that the Snapdragon S3 processor gives her daily. I recently upgraded my work issued Sensation 4G to a Galaxy S3 on T-Mobile. She played with it and like the larger screen, plus she still needs the WiMAX 4G coverage at the older gen phones are equipped with. So it sounds to me that the Epic 4G Touch would be her best option, instead of waiting for this upgrade...

Sounds like either I got a great 3d or she got a bummy one. My never crashed, and I got it the first day. Mine was never that laggy either.

If you saw my post earlier, I rooted mine last week and now it it super fast. It took me about two hours to read up on it, but only took about twenty minutes to actually do. I am not that technical either. It voids your warranty but it seems like you don't mind buying another phone anyway. So maybe you will think it is worth a try.

you sir made me lol. i bet you told your wife yeah honey there is a snapdragon s3 in there you need a s4 and next year a s5 and then a s6....ect. dumb ass. i have had my 3d since launch and i can honestly say it has never ever lagged! the s3 is very close to the s4 and the exynos in terms of floating point and integer. and the adreno 220 is a very good gpu. please dont make yourself look stupid next time you post.

I have to agree, the EVO 3D is a solid smartphone, many disliked it because they thought the 3D feature was "gimmicky". I gave my brother-in-law my retired 3D after he dropped his GS2 Epic 4G Touch, an he actually likes it better, he also likes Sense over TouchWiz. It's still a great phone and with ICS, it'll be up to date. If you're in a WiMAX market, the speeds are also very good, 6-10 mbps in Central FL.
