Sprint and T-Mobile to get Apple iPhone 5 says report
0. phoneArena posted on 13 Jul 2011, 17:07
A report from Piper Jaffray analyst Chris Larsen says that the most "noteworthy" change to be seen in the Apple iPhone 5 is that the device will be made available for Sprint and T-Mobile customers; at the same time, ChipHazard reports that the phone is in the process of being tested for use on AT&T's pipelines...

I don't have a problem with this I just don't see it happening.
5. Galen20K posted on 13 Jul 2011, 18:28 4
many other people including professionals "do" see it happening. Apple has been testing an AWS version of the iPhone 4 on T-Mobile's network for past year. It's the next logical step and if Apple wants to stay anywhere near the top of sales they'll have to offer it to the most amount of people as Possible as they keep losing ground as it stands. I like Android but I do seeing this happening, they have no choice really but to.
3. jroc74 posted on 13 Jul 2011, 17:51 5
I hope they do. Then some folks can stop saying "wait til it go to more carriers...Android is gonna suffer". Record sales? Its a given. Another choice for a decent phone? Sure.
What I want to stop is some ppl thinking....... if you dont have an iPhone.....you dont have an iPhone. Stop it. Everyone that wants the iPhone at this time already have it. Those that want it and didnt wanna leave their carriers will get it either by switching carriers or if it comes to their carrier.
But please stop it with the iPhone is the best...everything else sucks. As crazy as it sound....some ppl actually dont want it.

If Sprint gets the iPhone with its true unlimited data (no throttling speeds like tmo)
It'll truly be sweeeet
I believe Sprint is finally gonna b good in a few years

not if the Att T-Mobile merger goes into effect, Sprint will be in a terrible position and in a WAYY distant 3rd.

Being 3rd or whatever doesn't matter at all. Sprint will grow A LOT from that cluster f of a merger. att and vzw will only have customers to lose at that point. There is so much room for so many carriers, people want more choices.

The merger goes thru n it'll sux for awhile
Just like when ATT n Alltel merged In the small markets
They'll give u a free phone n when u want to upgrade oh guess Wat
Your gonna have to switch to an ATT plan
N while this is goin on lightsquared will b rolling out their
But time will tell

Alltel had GSM networks that were sold off to AT&T as part of the FCC approval. As an example Alltel was GSM in North Dakota.

Ah yes, Sprint and T-Mob gets the best phone ever released.

Best in what regard? Sure the iPhone is stable, quick, silky smooth, and extremely simple in format. If that's what you like, then the iPhone probably is the best phone for YOU.
But what about the people that want their phone to be optimized for how they use it? The iPhone is most definitely NOT the best phone for those people. Just because you don't personally like/use certain features that Android offers, it doesn't make those features any less valid.
It's like if i were to go out and bash a Prius because it isn't "as good" as my Camaro. They're 2 completely different cars for 2 completely different types of drivers. iOS and Android are the same. They're made for different types of phone users, but they both excel at what they're made for.

It's not that stable. Read apps comments in the crApp Store. Lots of complaints about games crashing.
My gf's Smurfs game even caused her iPhone to reboot! WTF? That's never happened on an Android.
42. quakan posted on 14 Jul 2011, 13:51 2
That's the developers problem...that's why the developer has to release an update through the app store to fix it. That's has nothing to do with the iPhone's stability.
45. stealthd posted on 14 Jul 2011, 16:53 0
Well let's see, the App Store is full of apps that aren't available on the Market that let you do a lot of things that you just can't do on Android. But go on, keep telling yourself Flash and Widgets add so much functionality they somehow magically beat out an entire thriving software ecosystem.

* Verizon had to sell the smaller markets
Of alltel due to monopolies in markets like
North Dakota where all we had was altell Sprint n

Hm I didn't know that. Ignore my previous comment then xP

Sprint might just have to snap up some of these small companies holding out, waiting to blow up. Hmmmm?

@twenti7 even in customizing and modding, the iPhone is the best.
It is called a jailbreak. If u install a jailbreak u can also install widgets, overclock your processor through SSH. Setup the UI of your phone. Block calls from people you don't want to answer. Send fake emails. Change your screen animations, and many more features. It beats the hell out of my colleague's SamSuck Galaxy S with Cyanogen mod.
39. twenti7 posted on 14 Jul 2011, 13:07 0
But you see, you had to jailbreak your iPhone to be able to do that. My EVO was able to do all of those things out of the box, and I'll be able to do even more if I ever decide to root it.
43. quakan posted on 14 Jul 2011, 14:01 0
I love the iPhone but you're just going overboard...all that customization causes you're phone to suffer a performance hit such as your phone over heating and some lag. That's all third party though and Apple doesn't see those features as their features just because some developer came up with it on the Cydia store and it works. Just stick to stock and wait until your phone no longer receives updates before doing that because cydia sometimes crashes and can become unusable so you would have to restore and erase everything.

There is a rumor that a trusted source has reportedly uncovered a possible move made by Apple in their unannounced iPhone and iPad platforms that may contain changes which will probably be launched during a hypothesized time-frame.

Of course it's going to be on Sprint also. Sprint is testing their version of the Iphone. Now APPLE is very afraid of the Galaxy S II and more powerful Android phones coming later this year. Still hate their law suit but they HAVE NO CHOICE but to put it on all carrier which doesn't surprise me
47. petejab (unregistered) posted on 24 Jul 2011, 13:12 0
i work for sprint and the phone is coming out prolly in november. so plan on seeing it happen... ; )

Oh, yea the IPhone on Sprint conversation lives on...hopefully, Sprint does get the IPhone but if they don't I'm sticking with them because I love my EVoo!!I have been with Sprint for years and they have been good to me. The service is great and I don't have hidden charges...SPRINT you do have loyal customers regardless of the IPhone
