this sounds neat, but its got low specs like a 2mp camera. can anyone tell me the exact date for CES and Macworld?

CES runs Jan 8-11 and Macworld is Jan 5-9. I think this could be one of the new trends we start to see with phones similar to touchscreens over the last year. The only problem I see is how do you carry all the extra modules with you? It will almost require a laptop like bag to do so.

I think the iPhone proved that hardware specs do not decide the success of a phone

its probably lower spec, so they can keep the pricepoint LOW, and therefor sell all the accessories for it. noone is gonna buy it for 200 and then spend another 200 on parts for it. my guess it will be about 100-150 and hopefully the parts wont be but 20-30ish. great time for accessory sales as a rep :)

Or be like me and buy a far superior Nokia E71......... problem solved!

yeah far superior....LMAO enjoy your brick

I wouldn't call it a brick... check out the specs on it first. Yeah, it is a little bit taller than most phones, but the E71 is much thinner than say a Blackberry Curve or many other PDAs or Smart Phones like that. I was surprised at how thin it was. With all the features it has, I'd agree with "iff2mastamatt", it is superior to most any Smart Phone in the North American Market. That's a powerhouse of a smart phone with everything any other smart phone should have.

And... It is a full ounce lighter than the Storm and its dimensions are smaller (overall) than the Storm... so I'm not sure which one you would consider more of a brick...

wow a full ounce! lol. but yea the cell phone world is ever changing and it has endless possibilities.. hopefully 2009 will be a good year for vzw phones

dude leave him alone...just because the E71 isnt a verizon phone, no need to get upset...get off your VZW high horse already and stop indirectly bashing every carrier besides verizon...its not anyone's fault that verizon's best phone is the awful BB storm.

no its not a verizon phone. i would like to see more high end nokias on vzw. now that we are the largest cell carrier, maybe we will start to see that happening. id much rather see nokias on my wall than motorolas!

This was supposed to be the "Lower end LG Dare" that was announced a while ago. Turns out the only thing "lowered" is the camera MPs. Verizon. I hate you for "daring" me to buy that phone.

They didn't dare you to buy one, they dared you to touch one. The question is, if you hate it so much, how come it took you more than the 30 day return policy to figure it out?
