If the Asus Eee Pad Transformer is TF101 and the Asus Transformer Prime is TF201, what is the Asus TF300T? Polish web site Tabletowo has published what it says are the specs for a new Asus tablet with that model number...

Their is a small mistake in that post, I think its meant to be 1.3/1.4GHz not 1.2GHz Quad Core

I think Alan is wrong in the assumption of ASUS looking for "Higher margins".
ASUS is very well known as a brand that offers the best "bang for the buck", not pricey/prime devices. They have gone out of that line with the transformer prime, which is a premium tablet ahead of the competitors as it has far better specs than the actual compertors and a premium built. There they have been enjoying high margins while they have been ahead.
But they also know that in two months the market will be full of tablets with the same or even better specs. At that time they won´t be able to keep selling at high/premium prices due to comptetion. So this tablet will be cheaper to build and will compete in price with the new tablets. How to do that? The hardware design is already paid off thanks to the prime, take out the premium materials (full aluminium built) of the prime and allow for 16GB as the SSD is one of the most expensive parts of the tablet.
What do you have with that? Tadaaaaa!!! A cheap tablet able to compete in PRICE with the flood of new android tablets with similar specs that are going to be seen in short.

Of note are some of the details from the comparison chart shown by Tabletowo:

- The TF300T has 1gb of DDR3L compared to the 1gb LPDDR2 used by the TF101, TF201 and the TF700T
- The TF300T lists 8.5hrs battery life (Tablet) and 12.5hrs (with dock) compared to the 9.5hrs/16hrs of the TF101 and the 9.5hrs/18hrs of the TF201/TF700T
- The TF300T lists the dimensions at 180.8 x 263 x 9.9mm, 640g vs TF101 176.8 x 271 x 12.98mm, 680g, TF201/TF700T 180.8 x 263 x 8.5mm, 582g/585g (TF201/TF700T)
- TF300T has no LED light for rear facing camera

Looking at that it seems this is a replacement for the 1st generation TF101, hopefully there will be price cuts as well (slightly higher than MeMo 370T). Although the battery life has me wondering if they are decreasing the dock's battery size to cut costs.
