Sony says it will fix the connectivity problems between its QX lenses and iOS 7
Some Apple iPhone users have had problems connecting to Sony's QX10 and QX100 wireless camera lens, and Sony has promised that a fix will be coming. A spokesman for the Japanese manufacturer said that there are "initial compatibility issues" with iOS 7. When paired to a device running iOS 7, the connection breaks off. Sony says that on iOS 6, the PlayMemories application works, but the software needs to be updated to be compatible with iOS 7.

Third party apps are being developed to enhance the capabilities of the lenses. Camera360 is said to be working on an update for its iOS app early this month, that will work with the two Sony QX models. In addition, Sony announced that an update for the iOS camera app by TapTapTap is coming shortly.

Both lens wirelessly connect with an iOS or Android smartphone using Wi-Fi and the pictures are sent to the user's phone from where it can be edited and sent out to friends and family via email, or uploaded to social networks. The QX10 offers an 18MP sensor and a Sony G lens with 10X optical zoom for $249.99. The QX100 is a 20.2MP lens featuring a RCMOS Exmor sensor and a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lens. The latter is priced at $499.99.
