Sony introduces its new Memory Stick Micro memory card

Sony has introduced its new memory card - Memory Stick Micro (M2). The new card, which is specially designed for mobile phones, has storage capacity of 256MB, 512MB and 1GB. The M2 memory card is 1.2mm thick, designed as an externally removable media. There also is a controlled eject function to prevent a possible loss. The first handset to feature Memory Stick Micro card is the Sony Ericsson M600, announced yesterday, as phonearena.com informed. Sony plans to start shipping the 256MB and 512MB versions of M2 in March this year, and the 1GB versions a bit later – in May, 2006. The estimated price is expected to be similar to that of the Memory Stick PRO Duo.
