Sony handing out $50 in PlayStation Store credit with new Xperia Z3+ or Xperia Z4 Tablet purchases
In what's likely an attempt to boost smartphone and tablet sales in the US, Sony has just debuted a promotion through which it is offering $50 in PlayStation Store credit to US residents who will get a Sony Xperia Z3+ or a Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet.
Nevertheless, if you're tempted by either the Sony Xperia Z3+ or the Xperia Z4 tablet, Sony will throw in $50 in PlayStation Store credit. To redeem the credit, customers will have to send photographs of the original sales receipt as well as fill out the IMEI number. All of this will be done through a dedicated website that closes for redemptions on January 31st, 2016. Devices purchased from either Amazon or B&H Photo Video between by the end of the year are valid for this promotion.
It's interesting to see Sony incentivizing the Xperia lineup of smartphones and tablets through PlayStation credit. In some ways, Sony's PlayStation division is lending out a helping hand to the company's own mobile business. It remains to be seen if this kind of cross-promotion is something that Sony is considering for the long run, or if it's just an attempt at clearing out Xperia Z3+ stocks.

The Xperia Z3+, a slightly improved Xperia Z3 variant that Sony unveiled earlier this year, officially launched in the United States a few weeks ago, and now it looks like Sony is planning to put some weight behind marketing the phone in the upcoming months. Sony's recent campaign is yet another sign that the manufacturer isn't ready to officially launch the new Xperia Z5 in the US.
