Sony Yuga visits the FCC with 2,330 mAh battery onboard
0. phoneArena 17 Dec 2012, 02:46 posted on
The handset's design sketches look very much consistent with the leaks we've had so far, and the battery is listed with 2,330 mAh capacity, which is pretty good, considering that the Droid DNA battery life is pretty good, also with 5" 1080x1920 display, but a smaller 2,020 mAh unit...

Not bad. It will have decent battery life.

i still think anything less than 3000 mah for 1080p is cutting it very close to less than a day of usage

Just like IOS , sony's ui needs an overhaul
While Sense and touchwiz changed a lot , Sony ui still looks the same

but sony ui is more stock android feel compare to other, you should ask mr bond lol

Isn't motoblur (ICS) closest to stock ?
And why their phones are still stuck on ICS ?
The Xperia T S J P should have been updated to jellybean by now
26. neutralguy (Posts: 1152; Member since: 30 Apr 2012)
asus' skin is the closest ICS/Jelly bean to stock :)
29. thelegend6657 (unregistered)
I love Asus , why I forget about them sometimes ? Heap , you're right
35. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5482; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
true, Motorola's UI would be a close second.
34. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5482; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
yes, Moto's UI is quite close to stock but all of their newest handsets in the US aside from the Photon Q have been updated to Jelly Bean.

have u ever used sonys ui before? if so lets us know what needs to be changed
11. wendygarett (unregistered)
I wanna sony to make their ui simple, to much of junk features makes their phone sluggish everytime... Of course I also wish sony to add some REAL AND UNGIMMICK daily features tho lol :)
20. wendygarett (unregistered)
Thanks for the red thumb... I'm just sharing my personal opinion tho, I'm sorry if my sentence hurt...
I personally think timescape ui is good enough to make sony a better phone, Xperia t is a very good example for me because of simplicity, if I want the special features, I will personally download from Google play tho, I personally don't like the messy ui, once I tired of that features, I can choose to uninstall...
I hope Sony fans understand me :(

i get what you're saying just fine wendy. o:

I don't know , I used the old skin on the Xperia x8
But look , the skin is the same on the Arc , S , T and the newer ones .
But if they refuse to change , I am afraid they may end up like iOS which I don't want that to happen because Sony makes nice phones . Its just getting boring .
25. thelegend6657 (unregistered)
Also , on android skin , its either Sense or stock . Sony UI isn't ugly , just like iOS but it doesn't offer the simplicity of stock or the fancy animations , beauty of sense .

Actually, Timescape UI is the main reason why I keep coming back to Xperia Phones, haha.
I really don't feel like they need to change something (but I was hoping for an overhaul with JB), Facebook Inside Xperia is quite functional and neat, the music player is awesome, same for the gallery app and Timescape. The only app that I really hate because its always running in the background and I never found myself using it was the app recommender app. Besides, most of the main features from other manufacturers can be installed on GPlay, even PA covered this a month ago or so. But well, that's just me, and because of this, it's why we have different UIs to choose from. :p

Sony should bump up the battery capacity even just a bit so it can last longer than its competitors
4. rcwfox2002 (Posts: 41; Member since: 20 Dec 2011)
I have to pay full retail for a cell phone to keep my unlimited plan. So I want an awesome this phone is good I have a Gnexus so not sure how Sony's UI is and want a phone with great battery life with aforementioned specs and I'll be happy.
5. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5482; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
my MAXX HD and I laugh at the notion that a 2330mAh battery is pretty good.
7. Grishm (Posts: 52; Member since: 18 May 2012)
Soon the Xperia Yuga and one of its owners would laugh at your phone's display, mediocre camera and the list goes on. Pretty soon, boy.
9. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5482; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
haha, well i don't want a 1080p display on my phone, it makes no sense to me. 720p on a 4.7" display is Retina territory, i don't see pixels, it's still mega sharp and it doesn't drain as much battery power or work the GPU as much as a 1080p display. the Yuga's Camera probably would make mine look like a joke but i'd take the battery life over it any day.
41. XiphiasGladius (Posts: 799; Member since: 21 Aug 2011)
The 1080p Display with a mediocre viewing angles? The camera that produces overly compressed photos? It's 2013 dude any phone that has a battery below 2500mAh is a big no.
10. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
sorry bro but playstation certified, great camera, cool ui, nice design, s4 pro and waterproof .....is what i would choose :)
and besides if the battery on the dna is decent then this one could be really good :)
13. half_21 (Posts: 44; Member since: 16 Nov 2012)
well..it's still a matter of personal preference..i would choose a newer phone over a maxx HD but if that dude is happy with his phone there's really no sense to buy another phone and pay for it for like $600 or more...what matters also is a phone fits the user with it's features, not all wants a 1080p screen(but i do),and not everyone needs a great camera more than 8MP( like me)...so choosing a phone all comes down to the user itself...besides the dude above only mentioned the battery and nothing else, so no need to bash him with the camera, screen resolution,UI, design, CPU..and other features, cause he's just referring to the battery life..^^
17. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5482; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
that's true and it's okay, i don't mind anyone countering the points made in my posts as long as it's based on an actual plane of logic.
14. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
but also i bet the Maxx HD is still a hell of a phone :)
18. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5482; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
it sure is. i went to a party tonight and a good many of us were using this app called "Snapchat" throughout the night and thanks to that i had one friend who's Galaxy SIII died on her a little over halfway through the night and another friend who couldn't download the Jelly Bean update on his EVO 4G LTE that i told him about because his battery was too low. #justanotherMAXXWIN ;D
16. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5482; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
Playstation certification doesn't really mean anything with all of the third party fixes there are. it's kind of like Beats Audio in that regard, i can flash it whenever i want to, i did it on my Galaxy Nexus but i didn't find it to be worth doing on my MAXX HD. indeed, i'll expect a great Camera in this, in fact Sony produces the best smartphone cameras i think. i'm actually in the category of people that believes Sony's UI needs a refresh. i have OCD like obsession when it comes to these things and Sony's UI is just too disproportionate to me as is, i think they can pull off some great changes as soon as they set their mind to it though. yes, the S4 Pro is an important factor and the MAXX HD's lack of this SoC is one of the very few downsides to the device however my remedy for the MAXX HD's lack of horsepower will be supplementing it with the Nexus 10 which is equipped with a more impressive Exynos 5250 and will have Verizon's blazing fast 4G LTE to use on command thanks to the MAXX HD and it's longevity even while using the hotspot functionality persistently and remember the Razr series is damn near close to being water-proof themselves, i'd drop this thing into a deep body of water without much regret, i did it plenty of times with my original Droid Razr.
i considered a lot before i bought the MAXX HD and i still believe i made the right choice but i do genuinely believe that the Yuga here is one to look out for if your idea of the right phone differs from the one i have based on my philosophy of having a good power/battery life ratio along with supplementing shortcomings with what i'll get from my Tablet in this case being the Nexus 10.
22. XPERIA-KNIGHT (Posts: 2384; Member since: 08 Aug 2012)
welp, sounds like you're good to go :)
28. thelegend6657 (unregistered)
You're rooted right if I'm not mistaken ? Why you don't want to flash beats audio on there ?
No offense Nexus 10 isn't a bad tablet , but if you take the price out of the question I think iPad 4 is still a better tablet overall .
I hate the new UI I prefer the honeycombish UI like in the Asus TF700 . Also the design if the the tablet isn't very pretty . I think the combination of an android phone withan iiPad is perfect you get the best of both worlds
37. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5482; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
yeah, i'm rooted and tbh Motorola's own Equalizer presets sound better than what i was getting from the Beats software. i use 2 different pairs of headphones, a pair of Mixrs from Beats by Dre and a pair of Heavy Medals by Skullcandy. i think i prefer the Tablet UI more too but i'll give the new one a fair shake and this is still a Nexus so i have no doubt that i'll be able to flash a Hybrid ROM before long. i'm way too invested into Android to ever justify getting an iPad even if i did want one and what i mean by that is say a new Angry Birds game came out and i wanted to get it. if i had a Nexus 10 i'd just pay once for the phone and the tablet whereas if i had an iPad i'd have to pay once for the phone and again for the iPad.

I own a galaxy s2, yeah a 2nd class phone by this time already, i planned on getting a new phone few months ago but instead i bought a nexus 7 which i use mainly for browsing web and watching movies, and last a day at med-heavy usage..and also i bought a ps vita which i use for gaming...and as of now im pretty satisfied with my galaxy s2, planning on using it for atleast half year more before buying a new one, besides i only use it for call and texting and some email on the go, so atleast itcserves it purpose for now...i use my gadgets for atleast 2 years, before buying a new one...still waiting until 3rd quarter of nxt year for new phone which i would really have no regrets of buying early 2013..
38. KingKurogiii (Posts: 5482; Member since: 23 Oct 2011)
the SII isn't so behind the curb, it still has very capable hardware for sure. i'd love to have a Vita but i'd never be able to justify that purchase to myself. i usually don't keep phones very long because i'll either trade them for something different or sell them to bury the cost of getting something new before the value drops much by doing baby steps i've really minimized my spending on phones but i'm so spoiled to MAXX battery life now that Moto may just have me tied around their pinky until another variant is released.

Simply do not like, and now every day thinking about the human mind that only Samsung and Apple, you say that this world is so realistic, so other brands have been plunged into the suffered, the product is not always easy, and sometimes good sometimes poor, when everyone in the moto, nokia brand praise difficulties, everyone put it to forget to say that this product is not good this product would be bad simply f**king s**t lies! ! !With your human brain to think about your mother or father beginning with the year is to use the phone only to comment! ! !
I use the phone and close friends or others do not like this is a reason not to share, I use the phone RAZR MAXX, because he brought me a lot of joy and enjoyment of the battery feels there is designed perfectlyalmost off the hook you look at the Samsung s 2 plastic f**k s**t rotten shell
