Sony Xperia ion expands its rollout as Hong Kong is next on the list

Late last month, the smartphone was released in Taiwan, but now it’s slowly moving towards its next market in Hong Kong. Despite not having an exact date for its release, Sony Hong Kong has actually started accepting reservations for the device – where it’s being attached with a suggested retail price of $670 (HK$ 5,198). No doubt it’s a wallet busting cost, but hey, that’s the price you’ll need to cough up to experience this prized smartphone.
At this point, considering that they’re currently accepting reservations for it, the release date shouldn’t be too far away. As much as some diehard fans would fathom snagging at the opportunity of picking it up, the hefty price point might dissuade people from going through with it. Nevertheless, we’re sorely hoping to hear something regarding its availability with AT&T in the near future. Seeing that we're nearing the end of May and close to knocking on June's door, we're eager to hear something soon about it – especially considering that we first heard about this phone back in January at CES.

Xperia S = Better design, Smaller screen(But has more PPI)
Xperia Ion = Bigger battery, Micro SD and bigger screen.

With this crap u can't compete with htc one x, galaxy s 3, lg optimus 4x. And we don't know when is xperia gx coming so yeah don't release this just release xperia gx and start to fight don't play safe.

i like the person above gave up on this phone im tired of waiting for it to come to the US i need a new phone i would get the s3 but i dont like the design thumb me down all u want idc i dont like the design of the s3 and i also would never go back to an iphone even if they release the iphone 5 . Ugh this sucks well ill just have to get whatever is available right now..

I don't know who told people that the ION got released in Taiwan but thats not correct. It will be released at the end of May in Taiwan. There is nothing on Sony's website in Taiwan that even shows the ION just all the other experia lines like the S, P, U, Sola. Same with Sony in China. I've been surfing the web and going to Japans websites for Sony and NTT Docomo plus CNET in japan. In the Experia blog net tells the story
