Sony Xperia Z2 vs iPhone 5s vs Lumia 1520 low-light camera comparison

0. phoneArena 27 Feb 2014, 03:00 posted on

The Z2 was set against the iPhone 5s, and the Lumia 1520, using the three phones in the same way - to snap a picture of the contents in a box, mimicking low-light conditions. The image from the Z2 looked much brighter, at least on the phone's display, as if there has been plenty of light around, indicating slower shutter speeds, higher ISO, or a combination of both might have been in play...

You do realize literally noting can be seen on the Lumia while you can see the full subject on the Z1?

Of course what we really need is the photos uploaded and not just seen on the phone screens, but the Z1 is the only one with a bright result.

Of course #2, it's a Sony controlled test environment, so the situation is surely made to make the Z2 shine. But it does.

Obviously gonna be brighter if it uses the flash!

Its SONYs box - :) id quess there is NFC tag on the box that transfered that preshooted pic into Z2 so it looks like a realtime shooting :) with best pic...

I wish succes to SONY - i might be their customer again but they need to prove their quality for that BIIG money they are selling every half a year their rubbish "flagships" since XPERIA S.

I think, on the Xperia Z2 the phone was on Intelligent Auto and it automatically selected 'low light' mode. So it was a fair test :)

One more thing why 1520 didn't took good photo because Nokia use flash to focus and flash work on box but not inside the box.

Does the Z2 have an Oreo sized lump on the back of it?

It's physics. If you want noise-free photos, you need an Oreo sized sensor. Case closed.
