Sony Xperia Z1s case spotted on Amazon U.K. site, reveals possible release date

0. phoneArena 13 Nov 2013, 00:13 posted on

Just because the Sony Xperia Z1s didn't get unveiled on Tuesday doesn't mean that the device is not coming. The so-called "mini" version of the Sony Xperia Z1 was supposed to be unwrapped during a Sony event on Tuesday that was expected to have taken place yesterday in Shanghai. Expectations were high, especially since the Xperia Z1s made a quick appearance on Sony's website on Monday before the image was pulled...

if the bezels is the same size as the Z1, then i wouldn't call it a small phone.

It starts getting a bit tiring with these bezels... what do you mean same size? Exactly same size, which would make them huge, or proportionally which would mean actually smaller than the Z1? Anyway, the phone is already shown in Japan as the Z1f, so you can check there. Anyway, in a smaller phone bigger bezels are not that critical because the device is still not as unwieldy. Do you see the massive bezels of an iPhone hampering its sales?

the iphone has massive bezels but its still a small phone, have you seen the 5 inch Z1 next to the galaxy note 3? its almost the same size even though the note 3 has 5.7 inch screen. Now if the Z1s is propotion to the Z1, its still gonna be a big phone thats just gonna be a little bit smaller than the S4.

When people mention bezels, its not just the bezels itself, but how it makes the phone bigger, hench thats why i mentioned that the Z1s is not going to be a small phone, but just smaller than the Z1.

i rather get a large bezel phone just to have a premium phone, water/dust resistance, 20.7MP camera with large sensor and a 3000mah than a boring plastic sammy and the same old cave man phone iphone 5s.

Assuming it's scaled down from the Z1 for a 4.3 inch screen, I get around 63.644 mm in width.

Which is not too bad; just a smidgen bigger than the HTC One Mini.(By .344 mm)
Of course, it probably isn't scaled perfectly, but I don't expect it to be too far off from that estimate.

On the contrary other sources indicate an early 2014 release. But I think this is a bit late for the mini version of a flagship. In this case it would miss the Xmas period and it would probably get dangerously close to the rumoured Xperia Z2. I think they should release this phone now.

The phone in the picture is Xperia Z, not Z1s.

Seems like the Nexus 5 case on Amazon "The embargo is over, and someone, now freed of the contract, wants us to know when it could be released"
