They are probably in the process of putting their own skin on top of KitKat..so that must take some time. I mean it did just come out.

Who told you that Sony promise to update in Nov? Didn't you follow the news? Sony already confirmed that it won't come in Nov. January is still just a rumor. wait for the official confirmation. :)

It's been all over the web since the announcement by Google. The day was suppose to be November the 7th, never going to be realistic, I just wish more journalists would deliver facts rather than speculation wrapped as facts

Should be thankful if they roll it out by March next year ... remember this is Sony ... always LATE ... SIII international version (a phone released before the Sony's BOND Phone) is already getting 4.3.

They really offer a lot of useful apps/software when they updagrade into a new version. Compare to others, they just upgrade it to 4.3 with no new features aside from Google offer

Who are these others who just update to 4.3? Both Htc and Samsung brought major improvements with their 4.3 updates WRT UI, Security, New Apps, new accessory support etc...

Late Jan/Early Feb? Pretty sure the Htc One, Samsung GS4 and Note 3 will have 4.4 by then anyway.
This is why the Z1 and Z Ultra should've launched with 4.3, so that Sony can knock 4.4 out quicker. Launching with an older Android version will always cause a problem as right from the start the phone is playing catch-up.
Here we are in November, the older GS4 and Htc One are now on a newer Android version than the brand new Xperia Z1 and LG G2, how embarrassing, and because the Note 3 launched with the latest version at the time, all Samsung have to do is work on the next update, not having to take a complicated route by cancelling 4.3 and skipping to 4.4, as we know, Sony was working on 4.3.

How you know One, S4 and Note 3 will have 4.4 at that time. HTC and Samsung didnt announced anything.

For now Sony maybe not the fastest when it comes to updates but they keep getting better each time and starting next month Android 4.3 will be available for 10 Xperia phones.
And they also officialy announced that Android 4.4 will be available for Xperia Z, ZL, ZU, Z1 and Tablet Z.
until today Sony has launched 12 mobile phone/tablets for this year alone, ten of them have received Android 4.2 updates only Xperia M single sim version and SP is still on Android 4.1.
Starting next month Android 4.3 will be available for 11 Xperia phone/tablets (8 from this year and 3 from last year) and at first Android 4.4 will be available for 6 Xperia devices.
this year samsung has launched more than 39 android devices and keep on counting.... can you tell me how many samsung devices is allready on Android 4.3 and also how many of them that will receives Android 4.4???

Seems there in no rush with the Xperia SP 4.3 update.
Assuming that's still going to happen of course.
If it does, I have a feeling it will be after the Xperia Z at least, maybe even after all of the other Xperias waiting for the 4.3 update.

Don't worry Sony will start rolling android 4.3 for Xperia Z Series, SP, T, TX, and V from next mont.

Sony has learned from the past...started to push updates much faster than before.. I remember xperia S got its ICS update in 5 or 6 months after it's released now 1 or 2 months is not a big deal especially that the 4.2 on my Z1 is working perfectly bugs free... So why the rush

Sony needs to change is naming scheme. I'm heavily into smartphone industry tracking; I try to familiarize myself with almost every relevant companies product line ups, I even know what the small companies like BLU have on their product portfolio. But Sonys naming conventions are so disjointed that I only have bothered learning the names of three of their phones: the Xperia Z because it was competitive with the HTC One earlier this year, the Z Ultra because it's huge, and I know the Z1 is a refreshed better version of the Z but other than "refreshed and better" the only spec I could name that it has for you is Snapdragon 800. The rest of their lineup is just alphabet soup. A jumbled bunch of Xperia Somethings. Just give them names like all the Galaxy phones. As hated as the Galaxy Light and Galaxy S4 Zoom names are, at least the names are easy to remember and therefore organize into product lineups.

oh i miss those days (till 2011) when every Xperia have totally different and awesome naming scheme

z1 has 20.7mp camera, triluminos screen, dual speakers at the bottom and has an aluminium frame.
Sony has a very confusing line up thats true but the phones from this year are pretty easy except for a few.
Its a bit like the laptop line up from last year.
Z = High end
S = Mid end
E = Low end
Z,ZL,ZR,Z Ultra and Z1 are high end
SP is mid end
E,E dual Low end
Hope they keep the same letters next year but like z2 z2ultra etc.
