Too bad AT&T is not picking up the Xperia Z this spring. I guess we have to wait for the fall.

There is a member over at XDA with the user name Spectrum, it seems that he is well regarded there and has been correct in the past. I am hoping that I am wrong and we see one in the spring. At least Sony will be selling one from their online store that will work on AT&T HSPA+ and LTE networks.

Galaxy s3 outperfomes it in terms of battery life, doesn't it?

Actually it does.

Not exactly comparing to relevant phones, is it? In any case one always hopes for the best.

i can't see a phone that can compete this BEAST !!!
well done sony

Why comparing to old devices

10. g2a5b0e posted on 11 Feb 2013, 10:51 5

I'm a little confused. Am I supposed to be impressed that it outperformed the Galaxy S2 & the Incredible S? Those are 2-year-old phones. Also, I realize the Xperia Z has a much higher resolution, therefore the CPU has to output more juice to perform as well, but how about a comparison to more recent devices?

13. emadshiny posted on 11 Feb 2013, 11:59 1

man, those devices have 4" screens with HD quality and dual core processor. this one has a FHD 5" display which has 441 ppi and quad core processor which consume more battery. the result looks nice although Sony phones are famous for their bad quality batteries.

14. faisolbauuz posted on 11 Feb 2013, 16:16

Actualy the galaxy sii uses a wvga 800x480 screen which means the quadcore fhd xperia z beats the dual core low res phone on battery life isnt that impressive ?

12. parkwaydr posted on 11 Feb 2013, 11:36

I'm in the same boat here. Why can't they show comparisons to some more recent devices?

15. sahilsandhir posted on 11 Feb 2013, 18:17

OK don't bash me but: since HTC M7 will have a 2300mAh battery but a 4.7 inch screen, the battery life would be comparable to the xperia Z, right? i am debating if i should buy m7 or xperia z

XPERIA Z is going to compete with Samsung S4 and SAMSUNG will ofcourse beat SONY in terms of sales and specs but SONY is SONY and SONY makes Quality and durable phones not just a Cheap Plastic Phones which samsung makes. When you hold any SONY Phone in your hand, you can feel the premium kind of stuff which you can't describe but feel and here samsung lack.

Heads off to SONY for making such a great phone but do launch this beast here in india on time to capture your max market before samsung s4 does.

I want to see SONY competing APPLE now.
