Sony Xperia Z available in the U.K.; phone offered to U.S. buyers for $849
0. phoneArena posted on 28 Feb 2013, 09:58
A day earlier than expected, a number of U.K. retailers are offering the Sony Xperia Z unlocked and SIM free at various prices; with no U.S. carrier announcing that they will be offering the device, one retailer is selling it in the states with limited compatibility for T-Mobile and AT&T customers for the price of $849 with orders getting shipped in 1 to 2 days...

You Forgot to add that HTC Droid DNA is better, didn't you?!
50. SuperAndroidEvo posted on 01 Mar 2013, 08:18 0 2
The HTC Droid DNA actually came out in 2012. Don't get the Sony Xperia Z people, get either the HTC One or the Samsung Galaxy S IV. lol
51. PhoneArenaUser posted on 01 Mar 2013, 09:52 0 0
You are just an HTC Droid DNA owner which just can't come to terms that there is a new and better "sheriff in town" a.k.a. Sony Xperia Z. And you just can't handle that other feel the hype about Sony Xperia Z. And that's why you are squealing in every article about Sony Xperia Z, you feel butthurt. ;D

Even worse than that.
Poor battery
Poor ergonomics
Washed out screen
Purple tinted photos
It's got the Sony logo, fanboys gonna wet themselves over this

I have here in Australia
I can tell you its outside is the best till today
But inside(sorry i have to say this) is even worse than GS3
Idk what they did with their UI but it is seriously laggy and looks not cool (laggy especially phone, call, text)
And I still have no idea why they need the big tile as background for the application
To sum up, it is not worth $849 even if you are an early adapter..you gatta wait till the price goes down

have you worked with this phone or you're just a butthurt fanboy?
or maybe you only credit those biased reviews of this phone.
Grow Up.

my friend from london who owns the Z himself has told me that the phone beats the heck out of BUTTERFLY ! the screen is washed out , camera is the best till date & battery lasts more than a day !
its the fan boys from HTC & SAMSUNG who has done Z damage !

"Poor ergonomics"
Troll, do you even know what is ergonomics...
20. drpain posted on 28 Feb 2013, 11:24 5 9
Read the reviews instead of being a famboi
21. PhoneArenaUser posted on 28 Feb 2013, 11:36 6 4
First of all I don't need to reade any reviews to know what is ergonomics.
Second, one review may say that Sony Xperia Z has bad ergonomics while another review may say that Sony Xperia Z has good ergonomics, then what?
And what if review will say you to jump off the roof, do you will jump?
42. InspectorGadget80 posted on 28 Feb 2013, 18:39 2 1
you're a poor reviewer it have STAMINA STAND BY MODE for longer and turn off web traffic 2400 maH battery. FULL HD 1080P screen 6.9 MM THICK Smaller than youre crappy iPhone TEMPER GLASS stronger than fragile glass. need i say more? learn too look at review phones before u say something

Not sure what to make of haters like you other than conclude a) either you can't afford the phone or b) you are simply a butthurt fanboy of another maker. I have just spent a full day with this phone and after having it on and using it all day, phone calls texting, playing Angry Birds out of boredom and watching a movie, I still have 56% battery left! The screen is simply to die for and I have had them all and still own the HTC One X+ and Xperia T as well as the Nexus 4! The colours are so rich and vivid on this phone, it almost hurts as the images are that sharp - you will need to use it in real life to appreciate......oh, I forgot, you are simply trolling and never held this phone or yo are just a fanboy of .........

15. Berzerk000 posted on 28 Feb 2013, 11:01 5 10
Wow, the amount of Sony and Nokia fans here lately surprises me...
Seriously though, the Xperia Z IS a 2012 phone in a world soon to be full of 2013 beasts. I mean, the Z isn't bad by any means, every phone has it's cons, but it's just late to the party; and to be late while pricing it that high is just absurd. I can pre order a 32 GB HTC One for about $700, which is a true 2013 flagship.
30. Taters posted on 28 Feb 2013, 12:55 0 6
Actually, if it had the Qualcomm 600 like it really should have, don't know how Sony screwed up there, the Z would be much better than the HTC One. It looks better, is thinner, better ergonomics(button placement), better screen size to phone size ratio etc.
40. jan25 posted on 28 Feb 2013, 18:24 1 2
Sony fanboys will have to say make sense of the Xperia Z old chipset, the not so great bravia engine, and the company's bad reputation with updates. Not to mention the borong UI. Now lets count the dislikes.
29. oister85 posted on 28 Feb 2013, 12:29 0 1
it has the same specs of the htc one same processor, jelly bean. I think the z offers more with the water resistant dust, really good headphones, and is made of glass

Great device, WAYYY too much money. Sony needs to earn peoples trust by having them experience a great device. No one in their right mind will pay that price if they aren't sure about the user experience.
Price it at $650 and you might have a chance, price it at $550 and it's a killer.
18. haseebzahid posted on 28 Feb 2013, 11:17 1 1
849$ looks extortionate price damn is it a phone or a apple laptop
and i heard people saying surface pro is overpriced :O well that pro and this phone is at same price hmm thats wierd

TX sells for 40% off from it's launch price ... in less than 4 months after release ... this phone also will have same fate ... :)

This is a great phone when it comes to features and performance, but the PRICE ?????????
22. rusticguy posted on 28 Feb 2013, 11:56 2 2
Typical Sony stuff outdated yet expensive. Wait for 4-5 months and no one will ever remember this phone... just like TX and T ... the hyped bond phone.
23. siluro posted on 28 Feb 2013, 11:57 1 3
So where are all the Sony Xperia Z lovers that were complaining in the PA review? I called it that the price would be outrageous, and PA basically said it's not all that amazing of a phone... Hope all of you who thought otherwise know better now!
25. pwnarena posted on 28 Feb 2013, 12:06 0 2
stupid sony pricing. as much as i like that brand, that price is just unacceptable considering that there are better choices available. i would understand if they put a better display there, never mind the processor. a better display and a better camera would have made it worth that much. unfortunately, sony does not have intentions of recovering given their deluded "premium" pricing.
looks like my hopes for a good year for sony have just gone down the drain.
27. Owlet posted on 28 Feb 2013, 12:11 0 1
If and when they release the phone in the US, it will have a different price tag. It's always like that.
28. nikenturd (unregistered) posted on 28 Feb 2013, 12:28 2 8
Sony sucks. $849 for a phone that isnt even at the very top end? Id rather wait for the Galaxy SIV and be good spending my $650-$700
39. TMach posted on 28 Feb 2013, 17:23 1 0
Sweet dreams as you are about to get the biggest wake up call if you think your precious S4 will be cheaper! Suggest you start thinking of the US Dollar equivalent of £550 and up!
31. sats.mine2k4 posted on 28 Feb 2013, 13:26 0 0
Clove is the best place for interested people in USA. Cost like 451 pounds( $690 approx.) inc. shipping... Just ordered mine:)

I've used both Z, ZL and HTC One and they are all fantastic phones. You Will be very happy with all these phones, it's just a matter of taste. They all fly.
35. joshOps85 posted on 28 Feb 2013, 17:00 1 0
Gee it's just one place in USA that sells it for $850, if other places sold it too it would be much cheaper. Plus if you're going to call this a 2012 phone than more like December '12. How many phones in 2012 had same specs, that aside it will still be fast enough for what ever you through at it. Don't be sacked in by the spec race, it's point is to make you buy a phone every 6 months... Ie they make lots of money off us poorer people!
36. TMach posted on 28 Feb 2013, 17:16 0 0
I dare you to name any phone from 2012, apart from the HTC Butterfly, which by the way is only available in limited markets and even now is still a rarity and is therefore arguably a 2013 phone. I get mine tomorrow and have had a chance to look and play with one of these already and forgive me but there is not a phone around that even gets close. There may be better phones in the future but not right now, oh by the way the HTC One X+ and Samsung S3 were near enoug the same price on release.
If you have nothing useful to say, do desist from making puerile comments. Thank you.
53. joshOps85 posted on 04 Mar 2013, 06:41 0 0
I agree with you by the way, sorry if I was confusing.
37. spiderpig2894 posted on 28 Feb 2013, 17:20 1 0
WOW! Well you know people, its Europe! Where taxes are said to be high. So in US, maybe the price will lower a little bit. In the Philippines, the phone is officially priced by Sony Mobile PH on Facebook with an amount to pay of P32,490 or $813.
Some people would still buy the featureless iPhone 16GB at that price in the Philippines.
43. pyradark posted on 28 Feb 2013, 21:26 1 1
iphone 5 is selling is due to the offer of our telecom, if there is no offer NO ONE will be interested to bought that expensive phone where you can get the same price as Xperia Z with Water & Dust Proof.
Cant wait to get one, in Unlocked Version
38. TMach posted on 28 Feb 2013, 17:20 0 0
Lol...seeing as this iPhone arena, this is still cheaper than the equivalent iPhone 5, oh I forgot, there is not an iPhone equivalent all of them being inferior. Before you even go there fanboys, got iP5 from vodafone as my upgrade and found it so utterly boring I sold it CEX. Can't believe I got rid of my iP4 for it so now divested myself of iToys completely especially as I have a strong preference for Android phones and always have.
48. joshOps85 posted on 01 Mar 2013, 02:03 0 0
Btw here in Australia it's $749 but you can't get it for $730 at some online stores. I remember my old x10 was like $1000 when it first came out, so really its quite a good price. Samsung and apple just don't want it getting popular and push a lot of negativity about the zed.
