Beats galaxy s3.
While you people are hungry for big processors. Which is the only thing the galaxy s3 will be superior in But the other specs will be almost the same.
for me this device is uber cause of dot switch. And ice screen sandwich its made for dual core not quad core.
Sony is smart.
Its like playing playstation 1 game on playstation 3.
Love sony. Don't bring quad crap until jelly bean.

13. nanozander posted on 27 Jan 2012, 01:02 2

you do know that chances are that the mint1 will be coming out with quad core this September right? And Jelly bean most likely won't be out by then either.

17. willardcw4 posted on 27 Jan 2012, 07:32 2

How does it beat the Galaxy S3... you don't even know the specs of the phone, or what it looks like.

"ice screen sandwich" ... no quad cores on ICS eh? Nice to know you aren't a programmer or hardware developer.

I'd love to see you face when your XS will be lagging in front of the GSIII..

25. RamyRamz69 posted on 27 Jan 2012, 16:28 2

Boom guess what, the Xperia S has a better processor than the S2 which doesn't lagg. Both phones won't lagg, get over it. What is the difference between the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4S? Nothing really in terms of software because both don't lagg even though one of them is a single core.

shut up and take my money!!

12. PhoneLuver posted on 27 Jan 2012, 00:26 3 2

The battery life sounds like that of the 3GS. It charged quickly, but discharged just as quickly!

14. torr310 posted on 27 Jan 2012, 02:10 1

hurry up Sony! Bring it to us ASAP!

16. darac posted on 27 Jan 2012, 02:27 3

okay now.. wtf is wrong with guys at Sony?!?
they make a brilliant quality piece of hardware with some BREAKTHROUGH technology and don't market it at all!!
imagine what would apple marketing do if they had these features!

18. fervid posted on 27 Jan 2012, 07:45 1

Oh, Apple will just come out with the same things months later and advertise the heck out of it like they created it and were the first. Then they will get the Patent Office to issue them a patent on it and start suing everyone else that has had it for over a year by then.

From this article it makes it sound like the S will not hit in the US and only the Ion. Is that true? I kind of liked the better PPI on the S over the Ion and the clear spot looked cool...although it looked like a point of weakness that would break. They both have true HDMI though which is great.

oh com'on sony fanboys .. stop comparing any Xperia phone with Galaxy S2, you just emerassing yourselves! seriously .. so pathetic :(

22. adjou posted on 27 Jan 2012, 10:08 2 1

Well Xperia S sure can't beat the "king of phones" sgs2. Fanboys can dream too, right?

It's funny how sgs2 don't have both of the above features and yet, the Xperia S have all the sgs2 features. It pretty "pathetic" (like you said) that we are comparing it with last years flagship against this years flagship. Oh wait, did I just say Xperia S is a flagship? Sorry, my fault guys. Xperia S is not even a flagship.

23. Jericho posted on 27 Jan 2012, 10:34 2

Galaxy fans defines blind love. Go to the galaxy s2 video review on phonearena and in the ending moments while the reviewer swipes through the homescreen you can see(not galaxy fans like i said blind love) the glitch. While there was no glitch in xperia arc. Windows phone and iphone both have proved that its all about the software stability.

24. Zephyron posted on 27 Jan 2012, 10:53 4

Just tested the Xperia S, Android v2.3.7

Felt really light for 144 grams due to its weight distribution, and pixel density is very impressive

Viewing angles are much improved VS the arc/S

Changes in camera software include full on manual ISO controls now, which was missing in the previous Xperias

Some changes on the lockscreen as well, where app shortcuts and widgets can be assigned =)

Floating Prism (transparent antennae) looks much nicer in real life VS the photoes.

26. fenixsama posted on 30 Jan 2012, 01:14

maybe sony can add "repels oily face and perspiration"

27. first4apps posted on 30 Jan 2012, 04:17

Also announced (http://alturl.com/5s5qd) The Xperia S will also use the Russian geo location satellites (GLONASS) aswell as the standard (American) GPS satellites. This will add another 24 satellites for more accurate positioning bringing the total available satellites to 55
