Sony Xperia L is official with 8MP Exmor RS camera, coming in Q2 2013
Today's Sony event didn't bring much in terms of surprises. In fact, the show was all about the company's two new Android smartphones, just as we expected given all leaks and speculations that preceded it.

One of these newly-announced handsets is the Sony Xperia L, which is a stylish mid-range device that stands out primarily with photographic skills. There's an 8MP camera on its back with an Exmor RS sensor that enables cool features like HDR mode while shooting photos or video, just like on the Xperia Z flagship. In addition, you get a dedicated shutter key that can snap a photo in under a second straight from the lock screen.

Other than that, the Sony Xperia L is your typical mid-range device. It is powered by a dual-core Snapdragon S4 Plus SoC - the Qualcomm MSM8230 running at 1GHz. The 4.3-inch screen has a resolution of 854 by 480 pixels so it isn't quite HD, although it should meet the needs of the average consumer. You can have the smartphone in any color, as long as it is black, white, or red. The exact capacity of the Xperia L battery has not been disclosed, but it should be capable of delivering up to 8 hours and 30 minutes of continuous talk time, or 7 hours and 36 minutes of video playback. Android 4.1 Jelly Bean comes out of the box, sprinkled with a number of interface tweaks on top.

Sony has not mentioned anything about pricing, but has promised to release the Sony Xperia L on the market within the second quarter of 2013. To learn more about it, just check out the photos and videos embedded below!

apart from camara and size , the spec is same as sola.....build quality n design is ossom ofcourse !

Specs not similar to Sola. While Sola had dual core A9 processor, this one has dual core Krait and the GPU is Adreno 305 which is similar to Adreno 225 used in last year's flagship phones. Overall, the performance will be about 2x the performance of Sola.

Personally I don't like Sony Design.

Blocky, thcik bezel and space waste

Exactly same goes to Xperia Z

17. rgxVOiD posted on 18 Mar 2013, 08:30 3 2

Then what design do you like?

19. MrJerry posted on 18 Mar 2013, 08:43 1 7

Ergonomics dude.

I liked Ip5 design the most
But they failed with all the scratches and dents.

20. pyradark posted on 18 Mar 2013, 08:50 3 2

iphone 5 is beautiful, but Z is more stunning than ever

24. Feanor posted on 18 Mar 2013, 13:27 1

Now you lost me dude... You don't like Sony design because of their big bezels and you like the iPhone which has the biggest bezels of the industry?... hmm... right.

29. MrJerry posted on 19 Mar 2013, 04:45

Did i say that i only care about bezels?

31. Feanor posted on 19 Mar 2013, 15:08

Hmm... yes, check your comment. You said blocky, bezels and waste of space. It's all the same unless if you mean the thickness of the Z which is super slim...

28. vincelongman posted on 19 Mar 2013, 01:28

The Xperia Z defiantly has much smaller bezels compare to the iPhone 5, the iPhones has some of the biggest top and bottom bezels around.
Through this Xperia L has large bezels too, it is 4.3", but looks very similar size to the 4.6" Xperia SP just announced as well
