Sony Xperia GX officially announced, the new Sony flagship has 13MP "stacked" sensor and no front buttons

0. phoneArena 09 May 2012, 01:52 posted on

Well, well, well, what do we have here? Out of the blue the Sony Xperia GX, previously codenamed LT29i "Hayabusa", just got officially annnounced by the Japanese this pretty London morning. Everything we relayed to you about the newest Sony flagship turned out to be true, right down to the name, but for now it is announced for Japan only. We've no doubt it will be making rounds worldwide come June or July, as that's the timeframe listed in the leaked 2012 Sony roadmap, along with a price in both Euros and US currency...

SONY design THEIR OWN PHONES. How the hell does this looks like A NEXUS PHONE? This is a bit thinner than the NEXUS

Do you even have an idea as to why they're focusing on the improvement of the camera's low light performance? It is because at this moment point and shoot cameras are still better at producing image in low light conditions. Now then imagine as to what would happen if this new sensor matches the low light performance of the point & shoots. . . Think about it. . . Also Sony's Xperia phones are marketed as multi media phones, what'd you expect a laser guided messile? ^__^

No info about it just yet.
If they somehow make that omission of not giving an SD slot with just 16Gb of internal space - it would be unforgivable.
Greatest fail ever.
But lets just wait and see.

Alright, then that's it.
When Xperia Ion got announced my wishes were - less size and weight, better design, ICS, S4 instead of S3.
It all came true with this phone, PLUS it got even better camera on top.
They shouldn't even bother releasing the Ion anymore! : /

The ion is long overdue. At&t should just replace it with this one.

Sony Xperia GX is a phone for Humans
Samsung S3 is only for Childrens (Plastic)
This phone can beat s3 in everything except battery.

Looks like the GPU & battery is the main let down for me. I could still be wrong about the GPU though.

I think I am in love with the GX! Oh my...

I hope Sony is going to release an identical international version of it in June.

Sony, nice!!! But I could see a little more effort done with the phone, esp with the internal memory and battery size... I would love them to have designed it w/32GB and @ least a 2,000mAh battery... may be they can try a much more powerful version???

The phone looks amazing and, honestly, I always found Sony's customized UI to be the best looking and the most functional. I definitely want another Sony phone in the future, but alas, I'm a current Sprint customer and they won't be getting a Sony phone any time soon. :(
