Well, well, well, what do we have here? Out of the blue the Sony Xperia GX, previously codenamed LT29i "Hayabusa", just got officially annnounced by the Japanese this pretty London morning. Everything we relayed to you about the newest Sony flagship turned out to be true, right down to the name, but for now it is announced for Japan only. We've no doubt it will be making rounds worldwide come June or July, as that's the timeframe listed in the leaked 2012 Sony roadmap, along with a price in both Euros and US currency...

"The Xperia GX was previously using the codename ‘Mint’. The Sony LT29i ‘Hayabusa’ will be the same as the Xperia GX without LTE functionality." - XperiaBlog
So basically this is the Mint and the Hayabusa.. The LTE version (Mint) set to come in Q4 2012
Just a quick heads up to everyone as well :)

Still thinking about this phone... man it's one gorgeous piece of kit!
I think Sony got it all wrong with the release of the GX. Unless they are planning a quad core A15 beast in the Mint, they should have teased everyone with this and created a little more - no a lot more - fanfare for the announcement to make sure that this phone got noticed. With specs like these and bod like that, this phone would have been worth it.
They could have started with a global announcement and then started its release with Japan, with then internationally next. That would have been a win win for everyone the world over.

Sony should make a true "walkman" phone like w980 or w995 (i mean the music quality), the LWW and Mix disapointed me a lot.
