Sony VAIO P Series Netbook coming to Verizon

This article contains unofficial information.
Thought that the only new Netbooks to come out for Verizon recently would be the Gateway LT2016U, HP Mini 311 and Mini 110? It appears that a fourth Netbook will soon make an appearance, the Sony VAIO P Series Lifestyle PC. It will be by far the most compact and lightest Netbook currently for Verizon, and will sport an 8" UWXGA 1600x768 pixel resolution display, Windows 7 Home Premium Edition, 160GB hard drive, 2GB of RAM, and will be Global Ready (CDMA-EVDO/GSM). Though we're a bit curious about the 160GB HDD claim, as other VAIO P Series Netbooks have a 60GB or 80GB HDD, or 128GB SSD. Pricing is showing as $299.99 with a 2 year contract, but there might be a $100 rebate, as with the other Netbooks on Verizon. We haven't heard of a release date, but it might be shown at the November 5th event in NYC.

I will never buy a netbook with an HHD. Why even bother. Netbooks are slower than notebooks becuase of less ram, slower processors. If you were to throw an SSD that would greatly reduce the lag from reading a typical spinning harddrive. I wouldn't mind owning a netbook, but i will pass on all vzw offers until ssd is an option. Maybe it would be similarly priced if you build it from sony and do the rebate for the contract... someone enlighten us.
