Sony Odin vs Sony Yuga vs HTC Droid DNA vs Galaxy S III size and benchmark comparison

0. phoneArena 22 Nov 2012, 09:19 posted on

Needless to say, the GLBenchmark database already houses preliminary tests from a Sony C6603 Yuga, which is rumored to be the global version of the US-bound Odin. Both variations seem to share the same specs - quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro, 2GB of RAM, and a 5" 1920x1080 pixels display with eventually the brightness-boosting WhiteMagic technology of Sony...

Droid DNA ! Its already out and no major differences in specs except the repeated 12 or 13MP Sensor. DNA runs faster ! Can't wait

There can be a difference if Sony launches Odin and yuga with removable battery and micro sd slot, and I also hope for higher capacity battery............

1st two are still okay-ish, but sd slot looks quite improbable....

Odin/Yuga will have dragontrail glass on the front and back, giving it a very different appearance and feel. They'l use whitemagic displays, meaning they'll be more efficient for battery life and can be far more visible in daylight. Plus as others have mentioned they'll have expandable memory, Yuga will be water/dust resistant and Odin will have an IR blaster. Battery size on both phones should also be larger than the DNA.

... and that's just the stuff we know from leaks/rumours right now. There could be other differences.

I'm sorry to say, the Droid DNA does NOT have a MicroSD slot. it also _only_ comes in 16GB storage variety; so if you need lots of storage, you're out of luck. That was the deal-breaker for me with that phone. *sigh*

also just 11GB of it is available to the user in DNA
You can either wait for sony's phone till early next year to get a better camera, more memory and perhaps a card slot
OR you can get what is currently the best droid-Optimus G!

If you're tempted by the Droid Razr Maxx HD you'd better first read reviews here or better on youtube, also try to read some sensible comments from owners in some of those reviews. That phone has the 2nd highest battery capacity in the world right now if I'm not mistaken. Meaning you can fiddle with it all day long without ever worrying the it'll run out of juice.

yea i have...i also just learned that best buy is offering it for free with a contract which seems like a pretty good deal to me...granted i will be stuck with it for 2yrs im just hoping that i wont regret getting it cause i need a phone with a decent radio in it due to where i live and a long battery life would be real nice too....i've been following phones and comments on here for a while just now decided to make an account to comment....it almost seems like too good of a deal to pass up...

I went and played with the DNA yesterday when it released for over an hr and to be honest the phone just didnt feel good in my hands and not only that I went and checked the signal strength after I turned wifi off and it was an avg 10 dBm higher than my Rezound signal strength. I had both phones sitting side by side and plus my Rezound is in an otterbox case and it would show -88dBm where the DNA was showing -98dBm for some that may be ok but I already live in an area where I don't get the best 4G signal so I need all the signal strength my phone can grab. I like HTC but honestly they failed miserably on the DNA it has great hardware yes and a beautiful screen but the phone is flimsy it has a weaker radio low storage and the sealed battery. I really tried to hype myself up to buying the phone, but I just couldn't justify it over my Rezound.

yea thats my problem also....i live in a so called marginal service area....i really liked the specs of the dna but a sealed battery and no sd card slots will make this phone fry....i need a phone with a good (radio) in it....i've heard the droid razor maxx is supposed to have one of the better radios for reception in it but also heard they had to re organize their antennas inside and was woundering if that hurt its signal strength any?

I didn't check the razor Maxx out mainly due to I have a very bad taste in my mouth with moto and how those of us who purchased the xoom got treated when it was released. I will give them credit they have the best radios of any manufacturer out there. I can only advise is to do what I did go to the veizon store and turn wifi off and go into setting about phone and network and check for signal strength to what you have now or compare it to other phones in the store.

Oh why the thumbs down? some of you are so childish with the thumbs and crap. Grow up please, I speak from my observations and you wanna give me a thumbs down? I think it's better to report true real world findings for those readers than you go buy a product only to bitch and whine it'sa piece of crap.
I'm sure I'll get a thumbs down to but ya know I don't care I call it as I see it and always will.

Here's to hoping the battery wouldn't be as disappointing as the Xperia S and Xperia T and Xperia Arc S and Xperia.... Well pretty much all their phones.
