Sony Ericsson maybe able to commit to Android based Product development all it wants. Unless Sony Ericsson is in control of updates and distribution of those update this could really mean absolutely nothing to USA Sony Ericsson customers. Since most of the Sony Ericsson phone base is AT&T this means even if Sony Ericsson was to release an update to 2.4 in the future AT&T could go about blocking the update and allow Sony Ericsson clients to get those updates. Even the current Flag Ship Xperia X10 in the United States X10A under AT&T can get the update to 2.1 making the Sony Ericsson only functioning on Android 1.6. Limiting US users to a lack luster experience and diminished features. In my opinion Sony Ericsson must make a new commitment to the users in the USA by making any update released for any of it handsets controlled by Sony Ericsson and only Sony Ericsson. Much like the PS3 updates are controlled by Sony, those updates can not be blocked by your internet service provider so must the updates released for Sony Ericsson hand helds not be blocked by your wireless service providers.

To little to late, will think very carefully before buying any handset not properly supported by Google. Will never buy a handset again from a company who can't support the hardware not even a Year after purchase.
Anyone who even thinks about buying any Android mobile from Sony Ericsson after this joke needs their head tested, the handset was only released in the 4th quarter last year in America and I think they are still waiting for 2.1.

concentrating on one main topic sounds like a good idea, hopefully SE last mistakes will help them regain control of themselves... looking forward 2011!!!
