Sony Ericsson delays the Android 2.1 update for their line of X10 handset to late October
However, they're now announcing that it'll have to wait until late October as they said, “we need a couple of more weeks before we are ready to start the roll-out.” Previously, the availability of this long waited update was penned down for a September release, but now that's all but a repressed memory at this point.
Still, it's hard to believe that owners are still waiting for just Android 2.1 when many other manufacturers are also busy in pushing out updates to their handsets – but they're obviously targeting Android 2.2 Froyo. Regardless, there looks to be some extra goodies being thrown in by Sony Ericsson such as HD video recording with continuous auto-focus for the Xperia X10.

x10 has become the flop of android phones. Sony ericsson is the monky in the middle of big boys. yes, i have the x10. would i do it all over again? no. The Super AMOLED's of galaxy s class phones are looking snazzy with their tethering, hd straight to tv... and so forth....motorola and htc are light years better in design.... who's more the fool? the fool or the fool who follows? guess I'm the ass.

I love my X10! If you look are the changelog from the different versions of android, they're not that big. My X10 is the first smartphone that has not locked up, shut down or anything. I have had 0 problems! Just can't wait for it to get better!

SE knows how to make good products. Unfortunately they either delay, or don't give it 100%. If you look at the X10 itself. Its a good product. If SE had played their cards right, they would have give the competition a real run for their money. Unfortunately, they had released the X10 as a teaser, to show what they are truley capable of, and really messed it up when they released the mini with a fixed battery, and other similar issues. Pull up you socks SE. You knwo you can do it...
