Sony Ericsson announces new K-series phones
The Sony Ericsson K810 is here to replace the K800 but actuall does not offer almost nothing new. Featuring the same hardware, it changes the design (housing) and adds some software changes. The K810 suffers from its predecessor's disease - tri-band GSM only plus European UMTS. Its Asian version (K818) drops the 3G support. Just like the K800, this phone has 3.2-megapixel camera with auto-focus and Xenon flash.

The Sony Ericsson K550 is from the mid-level and is the W610 withour the Walkman software, which means it is 0.55mm thick quad-band candybar with 2-megapixel auto-focus camera and FM radio.

The K550 is expected in Q1, while the K810 is scheduled for Q2.

WHY does SE insist on making their top phones TriBand and ignoring the US market by excluding the 850 band? It seems to me it looses customers like me.
