Sony Ericsson has announced the new Z610 tri-band (900/1800/1900 MHz) GSM clamshell with UMTS 2100 support. The device features a unique hidden external OLED display which looks like a mirror when inactive, and illuminates on an incoming call, SMS or MMS and the caller ID information looks as if it's floating on the surface of the phone. The internal display is a 2-inch 262k color TFT one with a resolution of 176x220 and the phone has a 2-megapixel camera with 2.5x digital zoom, as well as a VGA one for video calling. The music player supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+ file types which can be listened to with compatible devices, like Stereo Bluetooth headsets for example, through Bluetooth Streaming as the A2DP Bluetooth profile is supported. Other specs and features of the device include:

The SonyEricsson Z610 will be offered in three different colors - Luster Black, Rose Pink and Airy Blue, and will be available in selected markets by the end of Q3 2006.
