Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 to arrive on time?

With the problems that Sony Ericsson has had trying to launch the Xperia X2 on time, can the joint venture make good on its Q1 launch target for the flagship Xperia X10? A spokesman for the company says that there is no delay for the Android flavored X10, saying, "If anything appeared (on the Sony Ericsson website) saying otherwise, then it was incorrect." As we've reported, the X2 has been delayed but is soon to make its North American launch as the X2a. It is possible that with the great reviews and press that the current Android stars the Motorola DROID and the HTC Nexus One have been receiving, Sony Ericsson feels the pressure to get its Android star launched before it's too late. The joint venture might have pulled resources from other models like the X2 to concentrate on getting the flagship X10 out on time. But the good news for the many who are patiently waiting for the Xperia X10 is that you can expect the phone to be released this quarter.

Uh....SE, you guys do realize that you're device is running on Android 1.6 right? Those other two devices run 2.0.1 at the very least. I hope those extra resources are helping to push 2.0/2.1 to the X10 shortly after its release and cleaning up all that software. BTW, why not give us a real release date? Unless you're scared of course...
