Now that Sony Ericsson has finally captured a U.S. beachhead with the Xperia PLAY, the joint venture is moving on to other things as a photograph shows a Windows Phone 7 device with the Sony Ericsson brand...

WP7 doesn't rotate in landscape mode when the physical QWERTY is open, watch the same thing happen on the HTC 7 Pro and the LG Quantum. This render looks like it wil have the keyboard of the SE Vivaz Pro, which is great...

Hmm i like sony Ericsson but this image doesnt do it any justice, Honestly why can't a phone maker build a phone as well built as an iphone 4 and blackberry with a windows phone 7 inside? All these android and wp7 devices are so lovely inside but not on the outside. Am i the only one who likes a quality phone with a beautiful exterior? Any suggestions people im currently veering away from iphone 4, just because ive been using ios since its debut in 2007

The Droid pro looks "as well build " and as "good looking" as a blackberry
Droid X and Atrix Looks pretty good ans also many others

The Samsung Focus is purely magical. The vivid screen of Sammy's Super Amoled screen. Droid processing speeds with a 1Ghz chip. Sleek and stylish moreso than the iPhone in my opinion - with a polished piano black look, instead of a toy aluminium look. And it is lightweight, but sturdy.
You can't ask for more! Unless a QWERTY is a must, the Samsung Focus is flawless. Besides it is a Samsung, and they've been having knick knack problems with software integration.
But it is so sexy that I don't mind. Also knowing there is a highly supportive team at MS that work on these small bugs.

@alternatecreativity - I agree...nothing messes up a nice OS better than a terrible looking shell. WP7 is a solid feel even in its newness but this picture doesnt do it justice at all. It kind of reminds me of the old Samsung i760 PDA with its bulky shell. I do like the HTC Surround tho. Looks & feels like a quality phone.

This is definitely a pretty realistic photoshop if it is the case.
The Start Screen does not rotate to landscape.
The keyboard has the emoticon key (I think that's unique to WP7)
The keyboard follows the regulation layout of WP7.
Only weird thing is the IE logo. It's the background color in WP7 (i.e. transparent) In this one it's the IE8 colour logo.

Ah, not transparent, it's the standard text colour (should be white in this pic).

I'd consider it if it was on my network... My CDMA network... The nations largest network... WITH NO WP7s to choose from!

I think its fake, If you look at where the charger is plugged into the phone its pracically flush with the device, but yet there is a big gap in the shadow underneath it. The shadow would be more or less continuous.

Its not real...Windows Phone 7 is going to become a NOKIA exclusive OS..
plus look carefuly at that keyboard...No raised buttons whatsoever!

no... its not going to be a nokia exclusive os stupid... nokia is just the biggest partner and will influence how it is created

Maybe they'll call it the Xperia 7? Nice that they are willing to use more than just one phone OS as well.

If W7 won't load correctly with a landscape qwerty board, why not a "Torch" style vertical slider? Give up a little screen size for proper presentation? So long as you can have a responsive "pinch" touch screen to quickly get to the tile you want, wouldn't that be better? Or a Candy bar style about the size of the Droid Pro. Haven't played around with W7 much yet, but SEEMS like a no brainer.

So a Sony phone with Windows 7? I'm down with it I think it'll be pretty cool I like more competition so this will be great. But here's a question will it have Xbox Live and Playstation connectivity? If so that willl be pretty cool.

The only thing that's photoshoped here are the buttons at the bottom, because this is an android device running the Launcher7 application.

if its real -__- fail. look at all that space on the qwerty they could of added alot of dedicated keys and thee buttons look to flat D: which is a big mistake for qwerty users but its windows 7 and sony...its their first try ;)
