"Anyone prefer kumquat to Xperia U?"
That's the same phone... I think it needs to be: Anyone prefer kumquat to Xperia S?
I prefer the Xperia S because of the better camera.

this can't even compare with the xperia s.
but more casual users who don't need a large ,state of the art HD screen and great camera, will be happy to pay less money for xperia U

Man, this is just made for me. Personally, I tend to go towards a phone that has keyboard with a screen size of 3.5" max (3.2" is my preference, though). Any phone above becomes a no-no for me. And no, I don't like iDevices.

No, the technology coupled with the dual core is what makes it mid range.

by the time it comes out it will definitely be mid range...Still it might be the only respectable choice for a smaller than 4.3 screen. Just imagine a super spec android phone with a 3.7' to 4" screen, no keyboard and a super slim form factor.
It would only have the iPhone to compete with in that size category. And to me a top spec Android beats iPhone. That said, I will wait until May for a phone like this and then I bail and become an iDrone

Kumquat.
It's unique (maybe weird, but unique).
That way, I can search for it better on search engines. Xperia U - try searching for this and see the misleading results.
I don't have to remember which Xperia phone I was researching.
