LTE has been running on my Thunderbolt without fail despite turning off wi-fi to purposely run up my data usage. Yeah, I'm purposely running up my data usage to see if I can finally pass the 2GB just doing what I normally do (I'm on Unlimited).

I forgot to mention: I'm in NYC.

20. dinzle posted on 07 Dec 2011, 21:43

Im still on the unlimited plan and i have no remorse for using 4g i use it instead of wifi because it is so much faster. i have gone through 6 gigs and only half way through the month. I hope they don't still bottleneck unlimited users. also data was down in the boston area thus afternoon but was back up by 7:00 so no harm done for me.

It must suck for verizon customers that fall back to slooow evdo rev A. Thats the only problem with verizon . With at&t which may not have alot of LTE coverage when u go out of the LTE Coverage area u fall back to hspa+ which is much faster than evdo revA . I been able to get up to 14 mbps on at&ts hspa+ something my friends cant get on verizons 3G.

10. Synack posted on 07 Dec 2011, 20:51 1

You will never ever ever see 14Mbps with HSPA+. You won't even see 5Mbps. Yes your HSPA+ is faster than Verizon's 3G but you're still on the worst network with the worst customer service 2 years running now.

16. jacky_luvsjrod posted on 07 Dec 2011, 21:07 4

Someone is on denial ;P haha yes on my LG nitro i have hit up to 14 mbps in hspa+ speed varies i sometimes get 8,11,10 i ALWAYS get more than 5 actually i have never gotten 5........i always get more. Look it up on youtube im not the only one getting them speeds on at&ts hspa+ .. on LTE i have gotten up to 50 mbps only thing that sucks is that in my area theres only at&t LTE in a few parts of town . But it dnt matter cuz at&t has great hspa + coverage everywhere else so i get 8 or more mbps everywere else in town so its all good.also one thing i noticed on my atrix i had before the highest i got was 6 mbps .. i dont know what the lg nitro has that even on hspa+ im able to get 10 or more mbps something i couldnt do with my atrix that i still dont understand?. Worse network eh that depends were u live my area at&t works just as good as verizon i never had 1 dropped call. Obviously that always depends on were u live. Worse customer service well i never had any bad experiences with at&ts customer service they always nice and helpful. Everytime i walk in an at&t store they always greet me at the door and tell me if i need help unlike the 3 verizon stores i been too they rude and dnt even tell u if u need help i felt stupid walking around the store they just looked at me with a wtf do u want face and gave me there backs and completly ignored me so go figure ...

23. networkdood posted on 07 Dec 2011, 22:41 1

Umm, yeah, you can get 15Mbps with HSPA+ - I saw a VIVID at work get that and I do not live in a 4G LTE AT&T or VERIZON area.
HSPA+ is a huge advantage over VERIZON....for now.

12. omarc26 posted on 07 Dec 2011, 20:52

Yea i agree verizon is great and all but its still a letdown when they fall back to revA because its soo slow i know cuz i had verizon before there 3G is slow . They should of at least upgraded to evdo revB ..it would of been faster ..

17. JC557 posted on 07 Dec 2011, 21:08

I get a more reliable stream of data on EVDO than HSPA when I had AT&T. Also while using EVDO I had no problem, lag or delays loading youtube videos or using Sound Hound and web browsing is not even noticeably slower than HSPA. Before jumping on my family's Verizon Family Plan I kept my AT&T service just in case since I travel around the country a lot.

This was affecting LTE phones despite if they were on 4G or just 3G. My roommate couldn't use 3G at all. I told him to take out his sim card and then power off his phone. Put the sim card back in and then power it back on. It actually worked and he was able to get back 3G.

24. networkdood posted on 07 Dec 2011, 22:42

I did see 1X briefly today, until I power cycled....around 2PM PST it occurred - hmmm....

30. RORYREVOLUTION posted on 08 Dec 2011, 00:46

Yep that happened here too. Really glad that it was resolved.

Verizon better fix this tomorrow, I need my Nexus.

13. CalebHyles posted on 07 Dec 2011, 20:52

4G's out in Montgomery, AL it seems. Then again, my Samsung Stratosphere always seems to have connectivity issues, even with 3G. Anyone else questioning their Stratosphere purchase?

26. wlrottge posted on 07 Dec 2011, 23:11

In MGM. Wife had Strat for a day (didn't like smart phone). That sucker hit 32Mbps 2x on Chantilly!

Slick phone generally, poor execution of the form factor.

No 4G here in Kansas City. So after almost a month of 4G service here in KC. We have an outage.

18. N.Reynolds posted on 07 Dec 2011, 21:42

Mine went down. For 5 minutes and then it was back up. As long as this doesn't happen on the regular I'm cool with it.

Something is going on with VZW and Moto....the Bionic is plagued with bad connections and I cant hardly see if I am due for an OTA without that saying its unavail to even check...there is more to this folks. Dont know what it is, but it is something...

28. souleater93 posted on 07 Dec 2011, 23:58

Phoenix, AZ had no 3G available to the thunderbolt or Droid Charge from what me and my mom were experiencing. Also it seemed like the text/talk features were not responding properly either. We've talked to Verizon about a reimbursement like in the past time, but they will not give credit on the accounts anymore. The most they can offer is extra minutes. The tech support person we talked to said they will not give out credits for "technical issues" anymore.

4g is back in southern maryland

31. kpfirefighter posted on 08 Dec 2011, 00:54

So it begins! Another "BIONIC" situation. Just because 4G is down in some places is no reason not to launch the phone!
The problem is getting fixed so people would be happy to have the phone and wait until the problem is fixed and updated.
But! no lets delay the f**king phone two months!
