Some Surface Pro 3 units refuse to charge, Microsoft is "aware" of the problem

Owners of the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 with an integrated LG power pack have complained of a problem that prevents the tablet/laptop hybrid device from charging. It's a nasty bug to deal with, as it will prevent owners from using the device while not connected to a power outlet. With the battery fully discharged, the device will shut down instantly, without saving any of the work you've done.

Microsoft is yet to issue an official statement on the matter. So far, it has only told a moderator on its Community forum that the company is aware of the problem. Still, last month Microsoft did patch a bug that had devices with a Simplo cell misreport their battery capacity. MS is probably working on resolving the issue as we speak. It would have been fair treatment if it had acknowledged the problem publically, though.
