Some Samsung Galaxy S III units are dying young

0. phoneArena 21 Dec 2012, 02:15 posted on

There have been a number of reports about the Samsung Galaxy S III suffering from a killer bug that turns off the phone and won't let it reboot and while Samsung is aware of the issue, it has affected quite a number of units; Sammy is doing the right thing and is replacing the units regardless if they have been rooted or not and the problem seems to take place 150-200 after being activated...

Failure sounds more like reported NAND corruption. Especially since Sammy is replacing failed units with no questions asked....

On the bright side, this happened on international version, and mostly on Europe... Now news here yet in US :)

Business is war. If you were to write the history of the industry, slightly fictionalized, to include the attempts at espionage and sabotage by smaller companies to bring down a bigger company, then you would have chapters that look remarkably similar to what NOKIA and LG experienced. These companies had to pull product and change factories to resolve their problems. Microsoft already knows about malicious software loaded onto THEIR products and has had to act. Now it looks like maybe Samsung is having a problem that could fit the patttern - a built in 'kill-switch' that is intended to ruin their reputation and drive customers and market share. They might need to review their ISO9000 results and get more QA bodies into the factories, or do as NOKIA and LG have had to do. And they better do it fast. We all have marvelled at how NOKIA and LG lost market share so dramatically. Does anyone one else know these company's manufacturing woes? Business is war.

there seem to be problems here and there with samsung, but they are rich enough to cover it which is beneficial to their image.

Everyone has a warranty. Samsung can tell how old your phone is and they cover it. No proof of purchase or any documentation needed.

Why is it okay that people is allowed to go to an apple article and say that GS3> iPhone but its considered trolling when an Apple fan says iPhone > GS3 in a Samsung article ?

android fans are just as bad as apple fans.
To be honest, any fanboy is bad. Sure, apple has been an absolute arse about the lawsuits and thats been proven clear, but there is no need to see the competition between the handsets in every article? Maturity age at a down low...

its because the majority of the people on here are android fanboys and some of the worst ones at that. if you look at any non android article i could almost guarantee you will find android fanboys slating other os's and users and praising android

its a numbers thing, they have numbers on there side so they feel they can belittle people. all fanboys ruin this site though

Yes they do. Three years ago it was the other way around (Apple had the majority). I really don't miss the days when being told that the reason I didn't have an iphone is because I couldn't afford it.

yep ive heard that one, but its funny how now on here the few apple trolls left are swarmed on for doing what a majority of the android fans do themselves.

id say and im sure i will get painted red by said fanboys but android fanboys are much worse now then apple fanboys were. they moan about made up bias, they insult people ( like calling them stupid as they chose something other then android) and they take every article and turn it into an android centric praise-a-thon.

if only there was a way to remove all fanboys off here

1.) Because we all know that iPhone does not > GS3
2.)Going on an Apple artical and saying that is just showing people the light from which they lack under Apple's dark cloud
3.)Apple fan boys just don't have the strength in their numbers anymore
