Some Samsung Galaxy S II phones will come with NVIDIA's Tegra 2 instead of Exynos

0. phoneArena posted on 03 Mar 2011, 08:30

The Samsung Galaxy S II is not simply the successor to the popular original Galaxy S, but it's also the first phone to showcase the capabilities of Samsung's own Exynos dual-core chip, a direct competitor to NVIDIA's Tegra 2…

It really doesn't matter either way until programers start taking advantage of all these super powerful CPUs why be picky. At this point it all comes Down to the software programers. What's the point of having a phone that can do 90 million polygons per second if the best looking games only use about 27 million and are on a different platform. Apple just seem to be one step ahead in that department, but android is still #1 with me

I would go for tegra 2 as it is more common and I expect programs to be optimized for it.

Hello guys, does anyone know for which carrier this phone will be available for? I read some news online saying for t-mobile but the frequencies don't match. Please respond!!

ok, i don't get why some just vote people down for no rhyme or reason! The guy was just asking a legitimate question

sorry Artur, i don't know the answer to that

Yea there seems to be some idiots who have nothing better to do then to vote people's comments down.

Anyway, most likely what will happen is eventually they will release a version of the Galaxy S 2 to all major carriers just like what they did with the first one. I assume in the same order as well. GSM first, then CDMA carriers.

whatever company the galaxy s was in

5. remixfa posted on 03 Mar 2011, 09:55

it will be on all carriers, just like the first one.

common is nice, but i care more about power. Tegra2's are the "first out the gate". And thus, going to be the least powerful. The tegra3's that are comming out shortly are supposed to be uber duber, just like the exenos or however u spell it now.. lol

The Exynos processor will be on the Samsung 4G phone headed to Verizon dubbed the Stealth V.

Tegra 2 is produced in 40nm whereas the Exynos is produced in 45nm. So I assume the power consumption of the tegra 2 will be smaller. The difference won't be big (1-5%), but big enough for some users.

I look, look, and look around and this phone is the only one that amazes me.

I was so much into it, but the galaxy note changed the game. So Aug 11 no more apply.

And in retrospect, it took only 2 weeks before it happened.
