Or maybe the fact that there is a brand new UI that they're trying to skin and it takes time to work out the bugs before hitting the market. Besides, LG didn't wait to introduce the Spectrum right? The Razr Maxx just dropped as well, so what makes you think after 4 years of iPhone releases that suddenly now these OEMs are scared to release their products? Or is this just an article to get us all riled up?

It's a Family Guy reference. I think he's being sarcastic, considering that it's usually the stupid asshole father, Peter, who tells Meg to shut up even when she makes a good point. :)

Gotcha, don't know why I didn't make the connection. I love Family Guy. In that case, thumbs up to you both!

Oh yes.. it proves so much... since no OEM was quoted or had a comment regarding holding off releases. Speculation is always fun, was that iPhone 5 as awesome as you thought it would be??!

@willar. Oh sure. Android OEM's will openly admit to this, lol.

You have no logic in what you're saying. If they won't admit to it, how is anything 'proven'. The quote is from a news site (kinda like PA!!). Are you still in high school?

The proof is in the supply chain, but that is beyond willard's knowledge base.

Except this article doesn't quote a single shred of proof. So easily led astray, aren't you, Gemini?

@sniggly. Their proof is their observation that android OEM's are holding off on their new releases. What kind of proof are you looking for? A statement from android OEM's that they are holding off releases due to the iphone4s high demand? Lol.

So... the fact that a large portfolio of Android devices was just released over the past couple of months has nothing to do with any more phones being released later than sooner, right?

@snig : just use basic statistics and sampling techniques. Since you work at BB, you have access to the amount of unsold android handsets in your system. For people like myself, we simply count the number of unsold android devices at Walmart, Target, etc... Even Walmart started discounting their no contract android smartphones by $20 to $129.99 and they are throwing in the MI triology as a bonus. The unsold android devices is the STRONGEST evidence the android OEMs will delay new devices. This evidence is in plain sight.

Yes, I have access to information regarding what phones are sold and what are sitting there unsold. For instance, we have a pile of Evo 3Ds (though we do sell them) but we're sold out of Infuses and Photons, We've also sold a s**t ton of Inspires, and a good amount of Galaxy S 2s and Epic 4Gs. The Bionic is starting to sell now, the Stratospheres have flown out the door, as have Thunderbolts and Atrix 2s. Granted, yes, the 200 to 300 dollar phones have been harder sells, but we're not exactly overstocked.
We HAVE gotten a ton of iPhones in now (finally) and you know what? This month I sold, like, 5 iPhones. Granted, others have sold more, but at the same time, I'm not seeing people line up for them anymore.

sounds about the same here.... only one older couple has bought a 4s from me the past 3 weeks, and even they talked to the apple guy for awhile before they came over
Comments for : Smartphone makers delaying launches to Q2 because of staggering iPhone demand?
