Skype for the iPhone also getting in on calls over 3G

Skype has been an invaluable tool for the international traveler – allowing traditional costly phone calls to home from another far away location seem so less worrisome. It was only a bit of time before iPhone owners who use Skype on their smartphone were going to be allowed to place Skype calls over AT&T’s 3G network. Since the unveiling of the Apple iPad, the team over at Skype has been reviewing the device and its specs to hopefully gear up an eventual green light for 3G Skype calls. The SDK that Apple provides for version 3.2 removes the restriction on calling over 3G – which is great news for any Skype users that own an iPhone. They’re not rushing out to get this feature available just yet because they are testing it out to provide the very best audio quality – which includes making calls in wideband audio to give you greater clarity and fidelity.
