Skype for Symbian exits beta and jumps back in with version 1.0
After sitting along in beta form attempting to get some feedback and testing, Skype for Symbian is now available as version 1.0 makes its way to users. The latest version brings along compatibility with many Symbian^1 devices, several fixes for bugs found in the beta release, and additional performance enhancements. It's basically the Skype app we all know and love thanks to its ability to initiate Skype calls, IMs, text messaging, and sending multimedia files between other users. One thing that's sorely missing is the lack of video calling support – which we hope will eventually makes its way some time down the road. Symbian users are also treated to the availability of using Skype over cellular 3G or Wi-Fi connections. If you're still sitting on the beta release, you can download version 1.0 of Skype on their web site.
