Skype is cool but overrated. Google voice is everything Skype plus more. Google voice FTW!!!

Tango is available on iOS as well for easy video calls over 3G to iPhone users and android users as well. Works better than video chat over fring, yahoo, and qik as well. Almost as easy as FaceTime and it's cross platform.

Prefer Skype for routine at home phone calls. Like the separate software interface and it give me better voice quality through headphones and regular mic. Calls go thru most every time, whereas google talk (not voice) disconnects often. Traditional carrier services (ie landlines) much too expensive now plus you are forced to have contracts, pay more taxes, connection fees, long distance charges, and many other disadvantages.
