Skullgirls is a well-known 2D fighting RPG title that was originally launched on PC four years ago by developer Lab Zero Games. Today, the indie title makes its debut on mobile devices thanks to developer Hidden Variable and publisher LINE, the popular social platform giant.

The game is supposed to offer one of the most visually polished gaming experiences on mobile, courtesy to the carefully hand-drawn 2D animation. Skullgirls has an impressive RPG progression system that enables players to collect and personalize more than a dozen unique characters, unlock, upgrade and equip special moves and blockbusters.

Furthermore, the game features team and deck-building mechanics, aside from the custom controls that have been designed with mobility in mind. Skullgirls helps newcomers to the fighting genre who can opt for the Fight Assist mode, which allows them to take on a more turn-based, tactical combat role.

Skullgirls includes a noir Story mode, as well as Daily events and Prize Fights competitions where players can fight each other to unlock new fighters. On top of that, those who download the game during its first week will also unlock an exclusive Early Adopter bonus.

The game is available for free on Android and iOS devices, but it's only been released in North and South America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines. However, developers promised Skullgirls is coming soon to Asia and additional territories.
