Sizzling hot HTC HD2 to heat up T-Mobile?
According to Tmo News, this has nothing to do with Project Dark/Black, but T-Mobile just might have scored a major coup. A photo of an advertisement for the nation's fourth largest carrier shows a picture of the HTC HD2 while the copy on the ad is all about the features and some of the specs of the handset. We have seen how quick and smooth the 1GHz Snapdragon processor works on this device, and the 4.3 inch touchscreen showed it's value during web browsing, playing videos and games, and while looking at pictures. Depending on how this is priced, the HTC HD2 could be a game changer by itself. Peter Chou, HTC's CEO, tossed out a line recently about a first quarter U.S. launch for this device, although you would think that it would behoove T-Mobile to try to squeeze this out in time for the holiday shopping season.

No Kidding! ...AT&T... I am sorry, but if thing doesn't come your way, peace!

Agreed. that stupid iPhone is hamstringing us for all the rest of the great phones out there. C'mon AT&T get with the program! You finally got the Touch Diamond, so maybe the honeymoon's over? I hope so 'cause I really want an Android device, (Dragon maybe?) and this HD2 would be sweet! either or both ( like I got money groing on trees, I guess I could always sell this liver, I don't think I need it right? Ain't it sorta like an appendix?)

I meant Touch Diamond 2

The so-called "HD"... 65,536 colors? Give me a break.

7. *HOVA* posted on 14 Oct 2009, 12:23

You clearly haven't seen reviews of this thing then, or pics of it lined up to other phones for comparisson.

26. Kiltlifter posted on 14 Oct 2009, 21:27

Totally agree with HOVA. If you watched one Youtube video about this phone you would understand why it is called HD. Besides, the hardware on this device is nearly identical to an old xp computer i have wasting away in my garage. This F's up any phone out there, and will for a long time coming. Lucky T-Mo users. Besides the reason it has 65k color is because of the limitations of the current WM OS build. WinMo 2003-6.5 all run on an 8-bit platform that limits the color contrast. With a winmo 7 Upgrade (which this phone should be capable of) that will hopefully change to something better, hopefully 16-bit to get the 16 million color ability...but only time will tell. Besides... even on a screen as large as 4.3, the naked eye won't be able to distringuish much of a difference from 65k and 10 million colors anyways... I am excited for this phone to set a new standard in Smartphone devices.

How does a company with such crappy coverage manage to aquire these killer phones???

4. mulda71 posted on 14 Oct 2009, 11:39

exactly. i dont get why verizon is not in the game.

5. artz1986 posted on 14 Oct 2009, 11:54

I dunno, but I don't see anything about 'exclusivity' so maybe this will roll through the US like how the TP2 did...

12. *HOVA* posted on 14 Oct 2009, 13:19

Only reasons it's not headed to VZW first is because it's a GSM phone. Most high-end phones will always go to T-Mo or ATT because most of them come from Europe, hence GSM.

16. volvo posted on 14 Oct 2009, 17:26

umm, actually, T-Mobile has better coverage and reception than Sprint PCS, and at&t. and usually i have more bars and signal than my vzw friends. like in school, my friend wit her env3 had just 1X (no bars) and i had full service wit my moto zine.

19. Galen20K posted on 14 Oct 2009, 18:02

Well spoken Volvo! I've always had the Best Consistent service and Fastest 3G out of all my friends who have other carriers and actually a few of them already or are going to move over to T-Mobile. Especially with this announcement.

27. Kiltlifter posted on 14 Oct 2009, 21:29

T-Mo gets these phones first becuase their GSM frequencies are, for the most part, identical with European providers. AT&T's is different... so it is inredibly easy to port a EU phone to T-Mo becuase all they have to do is put a US charger in the box, and BAM, same phone, larger market opportunity. I can't wait for LTE to dominate the Global market and rid us of all the stupid frequencies and finally obtain a global standard.

im more then lost and upset. why is tmo getting the attention? this isnt a teenagers nor an adolescent minded individuals phone. also this is a device that demands a superior data network. tmos target is for teens. and tmo has sad data service. please sprint. i need this phone. let tmo worry about pushing out more sidekicks

13. artz1986 posted on 14 Oct 2009, 13:26

Its because there is a Tmo UK and other Tmo's through out Europe, even though they us a different band than Tmo US, Tmo US will still get the hook-up...

21. Galen20K posted on 14 Oct 2009, 18:03

Actually Prep, your Comment is the one that's sad. And completely Ignorant and False also I might ad, GET OVER IT HATER.

23. Fanboys Suck posted on 14 Oct 2009, 18:39

You sound a bit desparate Prep... This is a great thing that the HD2 is possibly going to T-Mobile. I think they have done a GREAT Job as far as their line-up lately. They are improving their network like a bunch of madmen. And, I hope there is a shift between the Big 4... changing up the game brings about a LOT of innovation and different price plan offerings (Competition). Why do you think that AT&T and Verizon have had the same rate plans for years? They don't feel like there is any other competition on their level (whether they are right or wrong). Well, if T-Mobile blows up, bumps Sprint, becomes 3rd and threatens AT&T, then there will be price changes and different offers and incentives(Again, Competition). This is GREAT news, along with the fact that T-Mobile is supposedly going to make a game-changing move.

25. unlimited357 posted on 14 Oct 2009, 19:56

Hey guys did u know that T-Mobile is rumored to buy Sprint? I just figured that out like two days ago. So then T-Mobile will probably (in time) destroy AT&T and Verizon.

28. Kiltlifter posted on 14 Oct 2009, 21:35

LOL unlimited... that has been a rumor for like 3 years. Duetsche Telcomm (SP) has made that statement before and that rumar pops up every 25 days. It wouldn't happen anyways... as it stands the majority of T-Mo US is owned by their parent company which is not US based. For a US based service provider to function legally it needs to have a majority of it's shares own by a US based firm and T-Mo has been under the FCC's "ever watchful" eye for this reason... I don't follow T-Mo news becuase I don't care.. so this could have changed recently... but i know that when VZW was acquiring Alltel, T-Mo was warned by the FCC to readjust ownership to be able to keep their services in the US.. so if anyone has any more info about this please elaborate.
