He's right. Apple provides great ideas to work on. But their products are often outmatched by rivals.

I don't think it was a game CHANGER, but a game evolver. Voice control and search preexisted the program, and apple reduced its functionality, but made it somewhat more comprehensive by tying it into a more interactive program for the entire device (Nuance may have also done that, I'm admittedly not familiar with the original iteration). It's still a flawed program and system, but it (and its rivals, notably Google Now) have much potential.

Agreed, what Apple often does well is marketing, like Siri it's a voice control functionality with a name. Same about Retina res. But essentially there's nothing new about it.

If there was nothing new offered google wouldn't have bothered to make changes to google voice so quickly.

Give credit where credit is due...Voice actions falls quite behind Siri. Google now is much improved

Siri is awesome. Google Now is awesome. While iOS users are going to have both, poor Android users unfortunately won't be able to choose.

Google improves voice search not b-c of Siri, Google does not make voice search to tell jokes like Siri but to do serious searches. It's much more intelligent, more accurate and way faster than Siri.

and Google Now is completely new frontier of AI and there's nothing like it anywhere.

Apples got the money. Now those folks that camp out weeks or months prior to iPhone launch, I wonder if they're paid to do that. It is a very effective way of advertising.
