Siri usage measured: used most for placing calls, sending texts, little else

Siri might still be in its beta but this didn’t prevent Apple for marketing it as one of the key features on the iPhone 4S and for a good reason…

i dont get you, you are not an iFan, not an androider, not windows fan... WTF ARE YOU ? lmao
34. Lucas777 (Posts: 2137; Member since: 06 Jan 2011)
personally ive never needed to use it in public... i use siri a ton-- but almost only for setting alarms and calendar event... and most of all for reminders because it is so much quicker than the actual app...
i also use it for all the things from the cydia like translating and opening apps...
i also dont get what the last paragraph is saying.. doesnt the graph show that 3/4 of people are satisfied and very satisfied while only about 1/10 are unsatisfied... idk

No surprise here really, siri is a short lived novelty, most customers we have had instore never use it,some people might use it the odd time at quiet times at home, like once a month maybe. Its like some of those apps on your phone you click on the very odd time once a month or so when your sitting on the toilet or something!
Vlingo and voice actions on android have been around far longer than siri and android fans use it the odd time for calls and texts etc. Only Difference is apple label theirs voice control as revolutionary and make Tv ads to fool ifans that it is!

Androsheep we can always count on u to say the dumbest stuff. The model T was around far longer then the corvette, but which was better? One of my biggest reasons for reading apple articles, besides general info, is to read ur comments, and see how stupid they will be. Do u just like to insult apple fans, or do u really thnk apple fans will abandon their devices once they read ur useless banter? C'mon man I gotta know... Please fill us in wise, and powerful androsheep.

wtf?? Hes just stating the facts ifan... dont get too offended
25. darkkjedii (Posts: 12619; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
I need his wisdom, and knowledge so I can b an androfan, instead of an Ifan. I need him to tell me how best to discard my idevices, and which android devices to replace them with. Lmao!!!

What facts? Any person who has working brain and IQ over 100 knows that OPINIONS are not FACTS!
andro's comment of "siri is a short lived novelty" is an OPINION, not a statement of fact. Here is a statement of fact: Siri uses technology that been in development for over 40 years (source:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S
iri_(software)). The big difference is that FACTS can be verified.
I wish the Android camp could use their brains for a change and THINK as opposed to sheepishly and perfunctorily making their dumb comments.

What voice command system doesnt? the ONLY difference between Siri and any other good voice commands... like the ones use in google for the past 2+ years... is that Siri can accept multiple inputs for the same command.
other than that "40 year" hype that has been proven over n over n over again to not matter in the real world, Siri doesnt offer anything ground breaking. An evolution yes.. a revolution... not so much.

You poor poor ifan, you still have't even discovered what group the word sheep is assigned to,i suppose yer not know for intellectual abilities so when you do eventually discover the particular group its assigned to we will be here for you.
Hint for you: One user here has a funny avatar of a sheep with something inside it,if you look closely you might actually finally find out!!! Maybe it will be a surprise for you!

I follow only androsheep. The supreme basher of all things apple.

Andro? Apple pie, apple jacks, apple cinnamon toast crunch, apple of my eye, candy apple, the apple that eve ate, an apple a day keeps the Dr. away, apple bottom jeans, oh and one more apple iPhone 4S.
38. andro. (Posts: 1971; Member since: 16 Sep 2011)
Thats a lot of apple typing on your Galaxy s2 at&t
43. ardent1 (Posts: 1999; Member since: 16 Apr 2011)
andro -- if you can't debate, that's understandable.
Your comments about Siri being a novelty or short-lived are SIMPLY your opinions.
The visual impaired or blind-people use Siri, and it's NOT a novelty to these users.

I would agree with andro. and I'm not all together sure why he/she got thumbs down...
Siri is indeed a personal assistant. I had the app before Apple purchased the company and it was pretty awesome. You could talk to it and ask it the best place for sushi or to help you make reservations somewhere. But there wasn't a phone integration.
Sure, it's fun to ask Siri popular culture questions. But the real function will come when you can command her to do things you'd normally have to do manually on your iPhone. You need to be able to command her to open apps and allow developers to have Siri integration within their apps.
Granted, this may be coming. But until it does, Andro is right.
26. darkkjedii (Posts: 12619; Member since: 05 Feb 2011)
Maybe, just maybe that's y apple said its still n beta. Hmmmmmm...
29. JeffdaBeat (unregistered)
Oh absolutely. But you run the risk of releasing a product to a large group of people who have no idea what a Beta tester is. To most people, Siri is a finished product. We nerds know better.
30. andro. (Posts: 1971; Member since: 16 Sep 2011)
Apple has specifically kept the beta tag even a year after siri was first available on the app store to prevent complaints and legal cases when people discover it does not work as well or even any way as fast or efficient as they portray it in their tv ads.
Some ridiculous ifan tried to sue apple recently sure claiming it worked nothing like the ads. If he was foolish enough to fall for apples pr then he'll have to like it or lump it with his iphones siri capabilities, not that apple will change the ad though :-)

I love how trolls who have never used Siri and don't even know what it its criticize it. Its a great app for quick texting without typing, setting reminders.
Sorry you don't have the app. But it is very handy to a lot of people.
And here come the trolls....................

The only time I used Siri was when I first got the iPhone, I used it a couple of times to get some funny answers but since then I haven't used it at all...
8. kainy (Posts: 165; Member since: 10 Aug 2011)
Heh ... well we all have hands free texting now, hands free calling, searching and whatever ... so what? Everybody had to had an iPhone to do what a normal phone could... how magical!

16. ZayZay (Posts: 565; Member since: 26 Feb 2011)
So Apple is tracking siri's use on all iphones??
No thank you
17. blazee (Posts: 318; Member since: 02 Jan 2012)
No, the stats were formed by a survey given out by a third party.
20. -box- (Posts: 3878; Member since: 04 Jan 2012)
Just presume that Apple tracks everything on their products...
