Silence is golden, but not on a DROID

The Motorola DROID's external speaker has been cutting out according to a few DROID owners and while Motorola is replacing affected models, it appears to be a software issue that can be fixed...

Weird...this happened to me this morning. Turn the phone off and back on and it returned to normal. Must be a software issue and I'm sure they will fix it.

I had a weird Droid thing happen. I was on the phone with someone, and my Droid screen went black and would not come off the black screen. I tried pressing every button and had to remove the battery to reset the droid. Oddly enough, I could still talk to the person on the other end, I had to tell them to hang up and I would call them back after I reset. Problem has not come back. Hope it was just a one time thing.

And that our phone doesn't have a chance of blowing up.

When that happens push the "Stand By" key at the top next to the heaset jack to light the screen back on so you can hang up. Easy fix I'm sure in the update. Hope that helps! Droid FTW

Why are we all getting negatives for our post? iPhone people are still angry at the phone to just come here and give negatives out? Mature much?

LOL, thanks for the laugh. Takes me back to a day when all you VZW whores were all over the iPhone for having bugs. Apparently karma is a bith.

Karma is a BITCH. For the love of something real, why does the edit button keep going away!?!?!?!

Looks like we found one of the culprits...when the iPhone came out I desperately wanted one but AT&T is not in my area, so not all Verizon people did that. You can't tell me that if Verizon got the iPhone that you would rather have it on AT&T. And don't say you would stay with AT&T because Verizon would dumb it down because obviously they didn't with the Droid. I have never seen a phone come out without some flaws but these are pretty minor ones and ones that at least can be fixed by the phones owner for now. Also it is amazing that they are coming out with a fix in only a month after release. PS If you are rereading your post on the page that uploads after you submit the Edit button does not show. Hit refresh on your brower and it should show up. I was having trouble with edit until I found that out. Hopefully that is your problem.

Yea I tried that, didn't work for me. Might be the crippled internet at work who knows. But honestly, I wouldn't have had it on Verizon either. I'm not a fan of ATT either which is why I unlocked it and use it on another carrier. I've never been a fan of ATT, just the iPhone. I have unlimited everything on a local GSM provider for around $80 a month after tax. So wouldn't have it with either VZW or ATT...

One thing I have noticed is that the corporate calander seems to run by itself...I hope they fix this because I am tired of having to stop the application

The second day I had my phone the speaker went out and I couldn't understand what happened. Since I sell phones and work on them, I figured I would do a reset to see what happens and it worked and I have not had any other issues since. There is also a note saying there is an issue with some phones being in a case with magnets. Some phones apparently are going black when the screen comes in contact with the magnets in the cases. I haven't had this issue but Verizon sent out a note indicating the problem.

vzw fanman i have had the same thing happen to me twice. how about issues with hotmail? The first 2 days i was getting the emails just fine. The only issue at that moment was that the emails that i read would come back as unread. On the days after that, there was a lag retrieving emails, then there was one full day where i couldnt receive or send emails...called vzw but they werent much help as they had no clue how to deal with any android problems, so i was told to add and remove the hotmail accounts and i did. After a few days the problem persisted then it just got fixed on its own, but i occasionally still get deleted emails coming back as well was the "read" emails coming back us "unread". I hope there is a fix for all these bugs.
