Sign of the times: you can now take selfies in the White House
For the first time in four decades, you are allowed to snap a photo or two not only in front of the proverbial White House lawn, but when you are actually inside on a guided tour, too.

Given the times we live in, this will more than likely open the floodgates for people to fire serial selfies at will, though selfie sticks and other prodding paraphernalia are forbidden, as well as lenses longer than 3 inches. Flash photography, and streaming live from the White House are restricted, too, though it's not entirely clear how would the ban on Periscope-style apps be enforced, for instance.

As per the White House press release: "Effective today, guests are now welcome to take photos throughout the White House tour route and keep those memories for a lifetime." Say cheese, as there is a special vid from Michelle Obama herself for you, tearing the old "No Photos" sign.
